You have to love this... These are the people that need to worry not another division within GM. American performance is on the rise big time.

First off the ZL1 will not out run the C6ZO6,it may have 50hp on the ZO6 but the 1000lb weight Difference will hurt the ZL1. The ZO6 out ran the Ford GT500 by 4 car lengths in the quarter mile .I love the looks of the Camaro and can't wait to see the new ZL1, but sorry,I will have to pick ZO6 on this one.

Yea, there are a lot of guys here, under the misconception that the ZL1 will be faster than a Zo6, not guna' happen' guys. Not by a long shot.
GM would never build a Camaro that out performs their "Performance" Corvette, anybody who knows the history of Chevrolet could tell you that.

A lot of people will be dissapointed after giving up big bucks for it,not to say it won't be fast and there won't be much that can beat it. I think it won't be long before the aftermarket sectre will begin building go fast goodies for the ZL1.

Honestly, I think a Whipple, a good cam, and a few bolt ons and it could very possibly reach 1000hp at the flywheel.
There are 700rwhp ZR1's with just a good head and cam package, once the aftermarket blower companies (Whipple, Kenne Bell) get to it, it will be a Street MONSTER!

That being said any car out there can benefit from these products. And if you have the coin you can make it into anything you want,Short story, I had a neighbors kid who bought a two year old Honda and dropped $17k into it to get it up to 350 hp ,he kept telling me how he out ran this and out ran that,And hinted he could take my vette anyday, well anyday came at the local track and he was embarrased,I told him that there is always someone faster and never give up your dream.

YEP!
Had a buddy with a '94 GT 347 with a Procharger, needless to say my 406 '73 Z28 RS was NO match!
But at least I didn't talk trash before hand

Sounds cool.

I always liked the look of a ‘73 in orange with gray stripes. That’s why I’m getting my ZL1 in that scheme. With a big engine they’d fire down the strip like a torpedo out of a submarine. But the truth is I’m a sucker for orange no matter what car it is on.
