So I received my CAI intake today. WOOT

Got the instructions and it says not to use the filter dry. I didnt order the cleaning kit as I thought when I ordered it it would come already wet. Am I wrong in this aspect and should I wait to install it until after I get it treated?

Not sure if its oiled I thought it would come oiled but it came with instructions on how to oil it and says not to use it without oil so I am now confused.

If it says it isn't oiled, I wouldn't take any chances. You could always get in touch with the company and double check it wasn't pre-oiled.

It's pretty easy to do the oil treatment though-- I think it takes a couple hours to dry but otherwise you'll be good to go in no time.

Josh did yours come oiled? or did you have oil it?

Also did yours come with instructions as mine did not. :( Also the little air hose was to small had to get another one.

Now I'm kinda wondering because I figured it was ready to go. I really didn't even consider that I might need to do something. I was under the impression that it needs to be cleaned and reoiled every 15,000 miles or sooner. Everything with install was smooth. I mainly sat and watched...and the instructions were included. I had a guy put the scoop and water bottle relocater in for me. I'm sure Bill can help, he is CAIs marketing guy.

I'm gonna say that if it needed to be oiled first they would of sent it as part of setup.

Did it come in a sealed plastic bag? I am pretty sure they come pre oiled. Mine did and I just put it on a month ago. The instructions is just to tell you how to do it down the road when it needs to be cleaned and reoiled.

It comes oiled already. Ready to run. I actually ordered a 2nd filter. I can remove 1 to clean, 2nd filter ready to go at all times. Can take my time to clean & re-oil the one removed. Get a k&n cleaning kit. Works really good and simple to use.

Sorry I could not respond yesterday, I had the day off. As for your filter, it does come pre-oiled and ready for use. You probably will not need the recharge kit for about 10-15K miles depending on driving conditions. When it is time to recharge it make sure you get our recharge kit, it is different than the competitiors!! We have our oil specifically formulated for our filter pleats. Let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to help any way that I can!!
