They did a MUCH better job applying the side stripe on the yellow car at B-J Palm Beach. That's how it should look. Check it out!

I don't post because you guys catch everything, but I couldn't let this slide...
The alignment of the center vinyl is off to the drivers side. Look at the difference on the bulge.

While I agree with you (I am harsh critic on this topic), maybe I can help explain why they look watered down... I work for an OEM aluminum wheel manufacturer so I have to deal with this stuff everyday. What you see on show cars are 99% of the time completely custom, one-off, machined wheels. They are able to do all kinds of crazy things like reverse draft, ridiculously small fillets, multiple finishes (ie paint w/ chrome), and lots of other things. While these may look nice, most are impossible in a massproduction environment (typically casting of some sort). And on top of all that, show car rims just have to hold the weight of the car sitting on a turntable. Manufacturers issue pretty tough durability requirements (ie, so you don't bend your rim when you hit a pothole, or tag a curb) and they beat us over the head continually to make them lighter and lighter. Add up all of these restrictions and we try the best we can to make a wheel that looks as close to the original intent, but at the same time we have to be able to make it efficiently and most importantly make it safe.

I feel your pain though... ugly, boring wheels make me cringe on a daily basis.

I can appreciate all of those points but start looking at some of the wheels that you see on some the European performance cars - I think BMW has some of the meanest looking optional OEM wheels around and they have to meet the same requirements. Cost of some of those optional wheels are very close to or less than what GM is asking for the 21" set on the Camaro. Hate to admit - my wife and I were looking at some of the BMW's before ordering the Camaro. (Happy to say I persuaded her to come to her senses and we went Camaro shopping)

I know all the regulations, safety, restrictions, etc. have to be met but I want some smokin' hot wheels from Chevy. One car I think they got it absolutely right on - Corvette. Keep up the good work and maybe you'll be the one to produce the first set that changes the industry.

I agree, the hockey stripes should be painted and it looks poorly applied, but to those that think the 21" wheels look small, think again. Those tires look like they were meant to be married on that car. For a V6, meh, probably not, and definitely not worth $4000.00. I guess the problem here is that Trans-Am/Firebird aficionados are upset that the Camaro does not resemble the famed F-body hey are used to. Can't help you there folks. You know you could always buy a Challenger, and you should already KNOW what I think about Challengers/Dodge. And please, if you are going to visit the site, please do not desecrate the name "Camaro" by spelling it incorrectly and then have the audacity to say nothing positive about it. Come on, you are on a Camaro fan site for goodness sakes.
I tihnk you're being a little harsh here... I don't believe 2muchmark was saying he doesn't like the 5th gen Camaro... rather, he just doesn't like that particular car in the photos (due to all of the accessories). In fact, he already has a Camaro on order and is anxiously awaiting its arrival, if you haven't noticed in his other threads

I hope the black rally stripes are going to be glossy. Otherwise the black rally stripes are going to disappoint a lot of people, including me.

thats a little GM sign.

imo rims are uggo

I like the hockey stripe it matches the line of the car. i agree its a bit off, but i assume these are applied by humans so this should be expected. IMHO, i would opt to go stripeless and then have them done aftermarket. I figure it would be cheaper and i would have more options to choose from.

They will be if you have them painted.

I know it's been mentioned before, but...

This is exactly why I'll buy and apply the hockey sticks to my car myself.

The body seam is kinda off here. WTF?
Point being, let's all remember this is an incredibly affordable car for what it is. It is NOT a Corvette or a Cadillac.
