here is a link to the pics I took of the SIM in dearborn today. high res and original (not photoshopped) but overcast. :(

SIM in Dearborn

Here are my thoughts... basically the hood and the passenger side are poorly applied as pointed out earlier in the thread. The hood is off center and the front fascia sticker is not aligned with the rest of the stripe on the passenger side. Driver's side is better aligned. Not sure if this is a CTF or pre-pro but there's a pic of the VIN. I really hope this is one of those quality control concerns that is being corrected.

The stripes are flat/matte. There is a texture to it and I'm not sure people will like that cause it was collecting dust. I'm concerned about waxing the car like with this application so I guess that will be my next search.

I haven't canceled my stripes yet, but I may.
Thanks for the photos Cyn and your points from seeing it in person. The more I see the quarter flares, the more I don't like them. It seems that Camaro you saw, had a bit "off". I would have 2nd guessed stripes to based on your observations. I didn't order stripe so I'm good.

p.s.- your sig gif of the girls kissing, that's from the Watchmen, did you see the movie?

That hockey stripe just does not look right without a narrow stripe next to it (in addition to the obvious allignment problem).

A black magic marker would look better than the gap. Actually, it would be quite permanent if you used a black laundry marker.

Why is this ugly monstrosity on the frontpage??? yeah we need a magic marker to make it look better from afar...lol.. This should never have passed quality control..

Aside from the rants in this thread which for the most part agree it is not looking that good with all the add-on's, I do wish the rear vinyl stripe would reach the back bumper at least. It looks unfinished..

And someone please give me a reason why anyone would want splash guards like that? racing on dirt perhaps? Also, if I ordered the single stripes and received it looking like this picture above, I would be very upset and have the vinyl removed and request my money back for the vinyl order..

Thank you Cyn for the photos! Now that I've seen the mud flaps and gas cover up close. I'm not digging them either! I was going to get the hockey stripes. But after seeing it, I think I'll hold off on them as well.

BTW, I like the rest of your photos as well. Don't let your new camaro catch you kissing other camaro's. lol

The single stripe looks flat black in color whereas the rally stripes have a shine to them. I hope the rally stripes in these pics represent what will be the final product.

At the end of the day folks it's still vinyl.

It's basicaly a big sticker. That you stick on your car for a design. It is what it is. Get yours painted on if you don't like them. Theres a reason why vinyl designs on cars is the cheap way to go.

Maybe some just don't like the color. Silver is too plain imo. Just kinda blends in with everything else.

The gas cap is kinda growing on me. I think it may look good on other colors. Just not on Silver.

I'll leave the splash gaurds alone.

Ya'll know how I feel about the wheels.
On a Black car too.

I was hoping the hockey stripes would have a similar finish too but they're not even close. I'm prolly dropping the stripe package off and having them done another way too.

I would just be so disappointed if the stripes came that way on my car even if it was an easy fix.

Yes, I saw the Watchmen and would like to see it again just not in the theater. That clip is prolly my favorite.

I thinks it's too bad they don't expand on Silhouette (not even in the book) cause she's seems like an interesting character.

The rally stripes have a much nicer finish IMO.

Well you do get what you pay for. I like the fact they are stick-on vinyl so maybe a couple years after I can change the car by taking them off or getting full length stripes painted on. Having these on I can get a feeling on whether I really like them or not. If I had painted stripes, removing them would be a whole different matter.
