New Best Stock Internal L99 goes 10.843@126.72! - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Ran an new best today 10.843@126.72 w/ my stock internal L99, I have a whipple blower w/ the stock pulley, longtubes,CAI, tune, 3:70 gears and lightweight TSW wheels and sticky tires. Only change since my last year run of 10.999 was the addition of the gears and wheels and tires. No power mod changes.

It picked up considerably, i was hoping for 10.7x but we had a serious headwind, weather channel said it would be 10-20mph but it never felt like less than 20mph the whole time we were there, plus the DA was about 200 worse today than it was on the 10.999 pass last year. So I think w/ out the headwind it would have made it into the 10.7x`s just needed 5 hundreds. I also ran 10 other 10 second passes to back it up and 2 11.0x and 1 11.1x pass.

My 1/8 mile I finally broke into the 6`s!! 6.961@100.83.

Now I just need to pick up that stall converter from Ted and shoot for some 10.5x`s!!!

I will try to get some pics and maybe a vid up tomorrow.

The wind was brutal in the north easy as well. We were 25 mph+ at Atco today.

How did you pick up the mph?

What the hell were you doing at the tree? Picking your nose!!

Straight up flying with no CAM and no converter. BAMF club for sure.

I know that wind liked to froze my butt to death...lol..

As far as the mph increase, not real sure, the car weighs less w/ the lightweight wheels, less rolling resistance, 3:70gears, we had raised the rpm shift point on the 4-5 so I wouldn`t shift into 5th before the finish line due to the gears, and commanded the 1-2shift 300rpm sooner. you would think w/ the headwind i would have lost mph and I`m sure I did lose some today, so i would expect to pick up another mph or so on a calm day.

I was taking it easy at the light, racing by myself, track rental all the time in the world, I did not want a red light on the pro tree...

Now when it counted and I was racing the 2011 5.0 mustang running all the bolt-ons, 125shot, 3;73 gears, fatties and skinnies, I beat his reaction time by .38. (Protree

) He ran a 10.99 to my 10.94 on that run, it was superclose but looked not as close since i tree`d him giving me a win margin of .43....

Thanks guys! The wheels I`m running are TSW Nurbring 19`s in the front and 18`s in the back w/ Nitto NTO5 drag radials. I wanted something i could drive around all the time, drive to the track air down run 10 second passes, air up and drive home. I do avoid rain though...lol.. I might have to borrow somebodies skinnies for the front sometime though just to see what that might do for me.

I hate seeing stuff like this. This is going to make me go in debt! At least I know I don't need a cam or convertor to break into the 10's. Dang you! Lol

Mike great job. That car of your is dead nuts consistant. I wish I had a better day at the track but clutch problems kept me out of it. I am thankful that it did survive the trip home but it sure did smell.
