Also another thing people dont understand is that the LS9 engine by itself is a $23,000 engine. For them to put it in the Camaro it would raise the price of the Camaro a bit.

Whoa there big guy.

Forever?

I guess you forgot about the 03/04 Cobra, 03/04 Mach 1, 96-98 Cobra, etc.

All of those were faster than their respect LS1 or LT1 competitors.

Throttle back?? Ok........

The only way they can make a ZL1 compete is by forging the pistons on the LSA and add the LS9's 2.3 supercharger. They still have to produce it on an assembly line to keep it at a "camaro" price point.

You don't take well to disagreements do you??

How much does an LS3 motor go for?

As far as road racing .............. I just don't get it? I mean if I have the money to go road racing I would probably buy a Viper ACR, ZR1, or a model of car known for track racing. I mean besides Trans AM when did muscle car guys start to care about road/track racing? Most guys that are into that type of racing think American cars are a joke (just watch Top Gear). As Americans we were always more concerned with stoplights and drag strips Are we now trying to copy the Euro and Asian cars? If so maybe you should start giving the kid in his SUPER CIVIC with the fart can the thumps up
If I want to drive around a race track I will buy a Mazda Miata or a Lotus.

I was hoping to see the ZL1 get 0 to 60 numbers like the SLP cars
Well, I care alot. I drive in NASA's American Iron series. And, every track event I have attended, (talking HPDE here) has been sold out by guys driving Corvettes, Camaros, Firebirds, Mustangs and the foriegn cars you mentioned. Miata's, really??? (I know they are fun little cars ) Road Racing is so much about driver.

That being said, the new GT500 is 6K less, and a GT500 motor is over 15K.

That is pretty reasonable for an LS3, and is comparable to a 5.0 motor.

We don't know what the 2013 GT500 will be priced at. Rumors I heard were close to 60K.

I'm speaking about the 07-09, 2010 and 2011 motors.

2011 GT500 motors are about 15K, and their are MSRP'd @ 49 and change.

Not to mention the TR6060 Trans is about 3,500 too.
