Then options;

Six-speed automatic transmission with TapShift controls is $1,185
20-inch, bright aluminum wheel package is $470
Power sunroof is $900
Stripe package is $470
Exposed-weave carbon fiber hood insert is $600
The suede package, including suede microfiber accents on the steering wheel, shift knob, and shift boot is $500

Then Sales Tax

Then markup if any

Then LPO options if any

I know someone else brought this up but I agree with them, why does the suede package on the ZL1 cost $500 when it costs $300 on the CTS-V? They both only include the steering wheel and shifter so I'm not getting the logic. If any of these two should have a premium attached to it, it should be the Caddy IMO.

Not a huge issue, but it is a head scratcher.

One the other hand, I'm pleasantly surprised with the $600 exposed carbon fiber insert option. I thought that one would come in at between $500-1000, so the price released is definitely on the low end of that scale.

Does anyone feel that these numbers may be fudged a bit?

How can a car with a better suspension, 200lbs light and 24 more HP be .1 slower than its more distinguished brother (CTS-V)? is the torgue the same or something.

I wonder if GM understated their numbers since they may have anticipitated the release of the new GT500 model.

Your math is off on the auto. Would be $58780!

Guess, I was pretty close when I said the ZL1 would be in the mid 50's. Now I just wish I could afford to get ahold of one.

Figures

Just as GM intoduces the ZL1 Convertible at the LA show Ford hits everyone in the butt with a 650 HP Shelby GT 500. Great PR people at Ford. Looks like it it will be a fun ride till the government puts a cap on it. Enjoy it while we can.

My logic was sound as well in comparing it to the GT500 price with the performance package (especially since the dealer reference guide listed that as the main competition and listed all the things the GT500 didn't have) an educated person would assume then to take the MSRP of the GT500 and add the performance package option's price to get the rough price of the ZL1...exactly what GM did.

however, there is no word yet on whether or not the 2013 GT500 will not be hit with the GG tax...with all that power I would be shocked if it didn't have a GG tax and would seriously to Ford on that one

Funny thing is part of me wants to put my order on hold for a 2013 ZL1 in hopes that CHEVY will fire back at FORD's new GT500. But then my logic kicks in and since the 2013 ZL1 Convertible will be released next year too I doubt Chevy is going to go back to the drawing board on the Coupe and then have to redo some things on the Convertible in time (since they must match performance wise) for MY 2013. So I think I'll stick to the 2012...if anything maybe colors will change and the CF interior options added to the list.

Price isn't that bad. I didn't supercharge my car yet. Don't know if I should buy a ZL1 or turbocharge my car. Cant wait to see one on the road. What are the new gt500's doing in 1/4 mile and 0-60?

So I was almost on the money with my guess at :
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...66#post4006766

Little surprised about the GG on A6 at $2600, but still within my guess of $62,500 and ZL1 is a steal at that price.

I spent that on a so called UNIQUE AUTO SPORTS edition Camaro (niow Veteran1) with none of the performance upgrades the ZL1 has.

I know my dealer "Becky Doyle at Rodgers Chevrolet" is doing no DEALER MARK-UP on my ZL1 purchase, so happy with the price released!

It's hard to fudge #'s these days.......but you can get your HP/TQ figures by testing in a room thats 85 degrees or more with high humidity....something like what they did with the 392
