If you want to be different, forget a new Camaro. Hell, spend 10K and buy a mint '78 Z28,you sure as hell won't pass yourself 100 times a day and you'll be probably the only one at your school or work. Any old car will do.
exactly....and it is still outselling the mustang which will change but still funny ...

It outsold the mustang because of the newness, but once the presales and initial wow wore off the numbers are going flat. The fear is that Camaro will do the same. What you guys seem to over look is that while Camaro lay dead FORD kept Mustang alive and kickin. Relavant even when most said it wasn't. So it created an emense and diverse following as the car kept keeping on. These two new reincarnations from GM and Chrysler have the wow factor and the initial bang frthe hardcore enthusiats , but the question is will they have the stay power that the mustang has with the general public.

they dont need the power they are limited....not mass produced. that is why i found it funny....oh and its the 09s outselling it....08s were first the "new" ones.

The 08's were preorder only so that's a moot point. Like I said the newness was still there , but it won't be now. Now the Camaro becomes new kid on the block for 2010-11. Then the mustang introduces the 5.0 and ecoboost and we are back to square one. Once 2011 comes we will then see true numbers

There is also the fact that Mustang loyalists also knew there was a reskin/update coming for 2010. I'm sure there were a LOT of people who passed buying a new Mustang in 2009 that were holding out for 2010.

It's certianly going to be an interesting year.

I like the 2010 Mustang and I know hp isn't a factor to all, but it is to me. I like the Stang way more than the Challenger, but they have to get serious about hp. Its a muscle car W/O the muscle unless you spend 45 grand for the Shelby.

That's funny because last time I check the 2010 GT was very similar in times to the Camaro SS. they also both have a v8 so why doesn't it have muscle ? Because it has 315HP but if those 315 in a v8 do what's needed why is it not a muscle car? So because it's .2 sec slower in the 0-60 and .4 sec slower in the 1/4 it doesn't qualify as a muscle car. That's just rediculous

300hp is plenty for me, im not a serious drag racer, but 300hp is no little nudge in the pants when you take off... plus the fact that the mustang is close to the 420hp camaro it's no weakling is it?

funny that ford has to sc their cars to compete with gm. but when gm wants to make a supercar the zr1 is born. what will ford do to compete with that? mustang will always be a chump's car.

This is a very uninformed post. All three cars are great cars and NONE are a "chump's" car. I personally am not a Mustang kind of guy but I would never talk down another car because it's not my cup of tea.

The Mustang is a great car, the GT500 is awesome in terms of bang for your buck.

That is so ridiculous even though the times the cars run are almost identical because it has less HP it's a chump car. Your arrogance is hilarious

Give these kind of guys a break. GM has not given them a legitimate pony car since 2002, so now that they have, they need some space to celebrate.

Too bad some of them cannot be happy about the car on its own merits and have to resort bashing its competitors to make themselves feel better about their choice.

identical times? where are you getting your numbers from? ss is running 13 flat and gt is running 13.7 from several videos ive seen and all the same numbers. you think with a small tweak that you can bump that 13.7 to a 13 flat? no sir. hell you need 700+ hp just to get in the tens. IMO i think mustags are a chumps car. i see it as a perfect car for a teenage girl. isn't that what this site is for anyways? to express your opinions? just like imo i think the cobalt ss is a joke
