sounds like the perfect evening

i am proud of both companies, but i will lean strongly to the zl1 at the track and if shelby can get the power down right the 1/4 mile will be given to them.
It is a great time and a sad time to be a car guy, seeing all of these new cars and power numbers is great! sad part is, i can barely afford to look at them.

Considering the Ford/Shelby contract runs out in 2013 this may well be the last GT500. I'll be rooting for the ZL1 if this race ever happens but I'd rather have BOTH in my garage since they are both great cars.

I'm still thinking there will be a GT500 (or something like it) even if the Shelby contract falls through...

I'm guessing Shelby will continue to be the name for a while.

If they dont renew that contract welcome back the Terminator Cobra. that i would like to see come back. Terminator > gt500

INTERESTING, but since no lap times were posted in that article during the 4 laps done by the journalist and the test driver (GENE) I'm going to assume the times weren't up to par with the ZL1.

I hope you're right but I don't think it will happen because the auto is rated around 560 ft/lbs of torque. I also believe this is why we saw a 24 bump in hp over the CTS-V but essentially the same torque ratings. I am glad they are offering the car in an auto but also feel like it could hinder factory backed upgrades. IMO

Now this would be great! Make it a GMPP part that, dealer installed and tuned, won't void the warranty!

What would suck for those of us that are still in for a 2012 ZL1 is to see the 2013 six months later with more factory HP and our cars just dropped in value massively!

Wow - I'm not sure where you're coming from.

We engaged our enthusiasts on this site - we provided video so that you would see how the ZL1 was engineered - and what we did to provide you (the Camaro enthusias - not sure if you're a Camaro enthusiast) with an incredibly balanced car --

When we were asked questions that we could answer, we did.

So....are you saying that we shouldn't do that?

I don't see us 'acting like the bully' -- OTHER THAN we simply issued a challenge due to the hysteria on this and many other Mustang and Camaro boards.......would you rather that we just sat back and did nothing?
