Yea we still have the big Resonator in the middle. I think you would only notice a difference when AFM kicks in.

You would have to check with MD. Our DMV says you must have a working muffler, no cut outs etc... etc... they were sued a year or so ago reference their noise testing and now do not check anymore. As long as it passes emissions its good.

The resonator is a muffler..what my guy called a pre-muffler???????? and the car is not "straight piped"

Luckily I have almost 4 more years before it needs to be inspected again. So we will see. I thought about taking out the resonator and putting 2 small straight mufflers in its place. Hopefully, then there would be absolutely no questions about it at DMV and maybe make it just a hair louder in the process as long as the cabin noise isn't too bad.
C5 member JimW lives just down the street. He has a M6 which had the delete and obviously the 2 small resonators instead of the monstrosity under our autos. His was noticibly louder than mine. He has since put mufflers back on it since he put on the supercharger.

+1 for the muffler delete. I recently did a Dynomax Ultra Flo axle back system. I left the resonators on, it's too quiet. Here's my video w/ stock, no mufflers & w/ axle back. The no mufflers sounds the best & it's NOT too loud. The sound quality is pretty good on the video, but listen w/ ear buds/phones or good PC speakers:

It's the best bang for the buck. It really sounds better than you can imagine. I was under the false impression that it would be too loud after doing tons of research.
