I never said that DOHC don't make enough low end torque, they both make more than they need.

LS motors just make it "better" in a lower RPM range. And loose it at the higher RPM ranges. Vice versa for the DOHC

And if your position regarding how A/F gets introduced into the cylinder was accurate, Then there would be no torque difference between Twin screw, roots or centrifugal blowers... since they all are mechanically driven and make boost in proportion to the RPM...

Which is not the case. each type of blower makes torque and power differently on the same engine...

The same is true for the Push Rod vs DOHC.. they make power in different RPM ranges.

That's all I'm saying.
Sorry, but much of the information you posted is inaccurate. The main reason Chevy SB's are able to make more low end torque (sometimes) is because of displacement and often times bore/stroke ratio. DOHC can run dual independent vvt and thus can run more aggressive lift and timing at ANY given rpm, plus more valve area = more air flow. Then it becomes not a pushrod vs dohc power thing, but a pushrod vs dohc weight thing with the huge heads dohc necessitates in comparison to OHV. If GM, or ford for that matter, built a 6.2l with the same or similar reciprocating assembly and the same or similar compression the DOHC would make more power and torque in every bit of the rpm range. Of course this engine would weigh a hell of a lot more than an OHV counterpart, but that's not the point. Moving on, positive displacement blowers and centrifugal blowers don't both make boost in proportion to rpm. PD blowers routinely reach peak boost very, very early in the rpm range while a centri will have linear boost delivery directly correlating to rpm.

Lingenfelter then warranties the motor for 3 year 36,000 miles......

Yep, I've been asking around some of my trusted gear heads... and I've learned a lot since I last posted that... On top of what you've posted I also learned that my information is about 20 years old...

Thanks for the post

ok...ok.... If everyone will just think for a sec.. on the cobra, all you had to do was buy a 4lb lower pully 250 buck and add 4 lb of boost. and you could buy a upper pully as well... the ZL1 and the CTS-V have basicly the same engine.....right???? so if the ZL1 comes with 580 hp a simple pully swap = 620 hp... GM will take into account that everyone will be doing this.... just like everyone did on the old cobra....

OK so now we blow the engine up... what about my warranty... I spend 5 min and put the factory pull back on.. just like everyone with a lightning and cobra did....

The GT-500 has never hooked up.. with 650 hp it will have to have slicks.... if you look at the gt-500 vs SS camaro video on youtube. yes the 500 wins, but its like 2 car lengths.....and on a road course I am very sure the ZL1 is a easy win...... I think we ar worring to much

I don't understand why we are worrying at all. Both are great cars, don't worry be happy.

Sorry ,but that's why I buy these types of cars. Why take a regular car and void the warranty just to make it run like one that comes that way from the factory(if your lucky) with full warranty.

I think it takes some big balls to take a new car and mod it up like some of you did. My hats off to you.

Really? you can afford the car and a CTS-V and you can`t afford to fix it?
