Frankly that sounds like some of the people on here who get pissy because they spent that wad of cash on a factory hot rod and get mad because people mod the cheaper trim levels and beat them at the track and elsewhere for less money. Like we should not mod ours and how dare we do that, they spent the big bucks to be the baddest sob around and they are mad that we won`t let them. I know the type, I`ve been around the car scene a long time. Nose stuck in the clouds, haughty tone when talking to them ect.. Gives me no better pleasure than to wear them out at the track. You know what their fallback excuse is everytime? ...... You guessed it.."Well my car still has a warranty and your doesn`t"...
No not at all. I commend you guys that mod your cars ,but a factory built one just means something special to me. You have to remember that people have different reasons for doing what they do ,and just because it doesn't go along with the way you do them doesn't mean they're wrong. As I said in an earlier post, you do what you want it's your car your money ,but don't rain on the parades of the people that feel a factory hot rod is right for them. The only reason I got into this in the first place was the comment about most people not caring about the warranty on an expensive car which is totally false.

Remember the people on this forum aren't most people.

There are also those people who buy a car garage it and never take it out that much wait 20+ years and make some crazy profit. In my opinion if that was the case there are far better things to invest your money in.

I`m not saying they are wrong to do what they are doing, but I don`t see how someone who has 60k or more to drop on that factory hotrod doesn`t have the money to fix the car if its out of warranty or is worried if he mods it that he will lose the powertrain portion of his warranty. It just seems like an "excuse"... Perhaps those like yourself are different, but I have run into a lot of types I mentioned above at car meets, the track ect... They always use the warranty excuse too...

Like I said their car their money. They can do what they want. I'm not one of those people if that's what you were driving at. I love modding cars. I just don't do it to new ones. I'm very content with what the manufacturers have to offer from the factory ,and I see no reason to mod a car that already make 550 to 650 hp just to run it on the street or a couple of trips down the track for fun. If I wanted a full all out race car I would build one. Oh wait I got out of that game years ago.

As far as that argument goes, I would have to agree. I don't "worry" about warranty ,but look at it as an added bonus to buying a fast car. Some people live way beyond their means though ,and money isn't that hard to get anymore. So I believe that some do worry about a big bill if they don't get warranty.

None of my comments were for anyone on here in particular. Sorry if you took offense to it.

Most people don't build a car right....that's why they break.

Look at all the supercharged cars on this site running stock rear axles, differentials, clutches.

If you build it right then it's as reliable and dependable as the factory version and a boat load faster.
