Buy delco blades. None of the others offer that warm, fuzzy feeling like oe. I buy them twice a year, OCD Gets the best of me.

If any of you use Adams products, their VRT does great on the wiper blades...offers a 30 SPF factor.

Wonderfully Awful Idea

I've had mine a year and 3 months in the PNW. Rain RAIN RAIN. No problems. Biggest problem with wipers is The blade needs to be cleaned. It will pick up allot of oil and crap coming off cars in front of you. clean them gently with a soapy cloth and then a clean wet cloth. I'll bet the cloth is black with crap and oil. Best of luck.

IMO, it's more about the glass then it is the wipers. Any wiper will do, really.
Clean glass, free of road grime and oil, is the key ingredient to a clean pass of the wiper. The surface of glass is actually porous. After time, it collects particles from the air and the road. The wiper smears them about, and when it does that, it can create streaks, haze, and a general diffused view of the road because the light is refracting and scattering through the grime. Even after a carwash, this stuff can still be on the window. That's why I like a product like Rain-X. Doesn't have to be name brand, but the alcohol and whatever beading agent is in the formula really helps. It strips that grime and fills in the porous surface. When the wiper makes a pass, it catches the water on top of that sealed layer of glass, allowing the light to pass through the glass with minimal scatter and refraction, creating a much clearer view of the road. Obviously, wipers do break down after time. The rubber can become hard, cracked, whatever, depending on the climate. But if you're just worried about a hazy window surface when the wiper passes over it, think about giving the window a good pass with Rain X, or at the very least, a good claybar. It can really help (and save you money) |
