I am thinking of putting a 427 LSX engine (fully forged) in the car with a 4L80E tranny and 9" kit.

The options then are to keep the maggie and be limited to about 750 to 800 rwhp, or go TT and have the potential to go over 1000 rwhp. I can dial the boost back on TT for street driving. The drawback of TT is that I don't get to keep my headers (sound) or my pretty maggie.

I don't get to stop in here everyday, so I know I'm late to comment, but I'll share some thoughts with you on this one. Keep in mind I'm not a mechanic by trade, just a car guy like most here.

Do you need to be concerned about turbo lag ? I know the turbos now days are much better than years ago, but it's something to think about.

If you go with the TT, how many has the shop you use built ? IE will you end up being the test build for your shop ? It might take them awhile to get any bugs out. The superchargers are more common, so you might end up with a more tried & true build with that.

I don't see why you can't have a thumpy idle with the TT because the idle comes from the cam, not from the turbo or supercharger, but maybe the turbo requires a more mild cam. Ask the engine builders about this.

Nitros id neat, but I'd also be afraid of blowing the motor & you have to keep filling the bottle. I'd rather gas up & go and know that I have the power I want anytime I want it.

Another option for power adders is a Meth injection kit, but again there's something extra to refill, but at least it's more consistant than nitros.

I know it's cool to have 1000HP, but when will you actually use that extra 200 HP (1000 vs 800) ? I've test drove several 600HP camaros, and for street driving & playing around, none of them can keep the tires hooked up at full throttle.

You also need to think about beefing up the rest of the powertrain, Axles, etc.

Hope this helps & gives you some stuff to ask the engine builders about.
