You see that last dip there on the sales chart? Right where the Camaro doesn't rebound like all the other times on that chart? That's right about when the program was officially axed.

I just want to point this out to anybody who may NOT have known. Scott, and other folks behind the Camaro kept it alive untill 2002, when it was officially cancelled by the CEO. 2002 was time for a major redesign...but there wasn't enough mula to do it - so the car finally stopped being produced.

No need to apologize for him, it's a problem I face on all the car forums I'm on... 90-95% of the users are guys, and sometimes they seem to forget there are women who are just as car savvy and a part of the forums as they are.

Well trust me... if at the time I could have afforded it, I DEFINITELY would have bought a brand new Z28. But seeing as how in 2002 I was in the 8th grade, it would have been highly impractical for a 14 year old girl to go out and buy a brand new muscle car, haha! I bet I would have been wildly popular though!

Ya know, if there was any way possible I would LOVE to do the Richard Petty Driving Experience (if I had a couple thousand laying around extra somewhere, that is...). I think it would really be awesome. Maybe while I was there, I would be spotted by some NASCAR people and they would sign me a contract and I could get the Camaro as my sponsor! Then I could meet Dale Jr. and we'd get married and have babies!

I know, but I can understand how men think "Women don't know ANYTHING about cars, because in all fairness about 90% of women on the roads are idiots (I admit it!). But then there are the 10% of us who get on the internet to discuss up and coming HOTT muscle cars that we are highly anticipating arriving in showrooms in our area... So those of us who are muscle car enthusiasts like to mingle with the crowds like us, even if that does mean that it is a male majority crowd lol. I have always felt like I have been treated with respect here at Camaro5 as a female. (Special thanks, I'm sure, goes to the Mods for that for watching the boards so closely for us all.)

And then There's the 90% of men who don't know how to drive, either...it's not just the ladies. It's all about what 'side' (M or F)your on, that dictates who you see as driving the worst.

The only thing I can say with dead certainty from what little experience I have is this:
Women tend to be more careful drivers, and that can cause accidents.
Men tend to be more agressive, take-more-chances-than-you-should drivers, which also causes accidents.

And based on that, more men are apt to become muscle car jocks, than women. But that doesn't mean flat-out "women can't own muscle cars" statements can be thrown around. I don't remember reading exactly that, though.... Much goes to the ladies on this board, and anybody who doesn't show it will have much to answer for!

I have heard that men cause more accidents, but on a per mile baisis women cause more accidents by something under 10%. I cant recall where I heard that though

I just tend to think that EVERYONE other then me is a complete idiot while driving. Might not sound fair, but has saved my ass on many occasions in my relatively short driving career of soon to be four years or so.

When you're on the road, I think that is the best mindset to have. That's how you avoid accidents. Not by focusing on what you're doing, but by being aware of what the drivers around you are doing. It may be their fault for changing lanes too early, but your car is still a flaming pile of wreckage as a result.

If you can avoid that by driving under the assumption that nobody else on the road has any idea what their doing, you'll be a lot safer.

WOW, My wife and I use this same train of thought when driving. It's called Defensive Driving My wife has NEVER been in an accident in 25 years of driving, I was when I had for a breaf moment went in to Offensive mode and totaled a car. Keep it up

Exactly! There are IDIOTS out there that don't look before they change lanes, don't give a signal, heck some people don't even have working brake lights!! The only accident I was in I got rearended by a guy who wasn't paying any attention. I suffered for it the next day, and I had to play in a golf tournament which was no fun lol, but it wasn't my fault and there was nothing that could be done. I think it all just depends on how cautious the driver is and how he/she takes their surroundings into perspective.

THis is my exact mindset as well. Mine has come from years of riding motorcycles. If you think its bad on 4 wheels just try 2. Everybody, and I mean everybody seems like they are trying to kill you. Please everybody think about that when your near motorcycles.

I dont mean to harp but if you ride wear a helmet. I wear a full face and when you drive buckle up every time. I cant stress that enough no matter what you drive. Wear your seat belts!!!!

I'm feeling all proud of myself and all now Good to hear that it works for other people too. And I especially plan to continue to drive defensively when I have a nice new car that I don't want to crash. Totally understand about the motorcycle, my dad has one and he's been in a few close calls in the year and a half he's been driving it.

That's funny, I thought I was the most defensive driver on the planet and everyone else needed to be somewhere in a hurry. Even if there's a green light, as I'm heading into it I look to see the other cars have stopped on both sides of me. I don't slow down through a green light but I can't trust other people to stop cuz they have a red light, never trust other drivers is my motto.

I can't count how many accidents I avoided but I've only been in two in my life time. The first was ONE month after I got my license, it was a drunk driver that swirled over two lanes to get in front of me in the dead of rain. I could not stop and rear-ended him.

Like 2K05GT, the first time I got offensive, my Z28 got nailed on the passenger side from a lady who was on her cell phone and speeding.

DE-FENSE!
