That Challenger is a very nice car!

I have to agree that it is a load of crap that we don't get our cars while the dealers are getting their lot cars to sell.... however..... we are in a unique position of being able to order our cars to our exact specs, or close to it. We are getting our cars in the color we want, at the trim level we want, with a pretty wide range of options we want, straight from the factory. Keep in mind we are buying a Chevy Camaro, and no matter how nice this car is, it is not a Maybach or Bugatti. If you want to choose between a lot car or two that's up to you, and if you think the Challenger is a very nice car feel free to pick one of those up as well, lord knows the Dodge dealers around here can't sell them, every one of our dealers have at least half a dozen of them sitting on their lots rotting .....

As to GM not being more forthcoming with their information ? I think they have been more than helpful. In the old days all we got was an article in a magazine saying that a car was coming out someday, and eventually the car showed up. Now we have gotten spoiled, we think that because we all have computers and the internet and cellphones with cameras we should have information beemed to us the second someone thinks it. I have to say, I am just as anxious as the rest of you, hell, the car isn't even mine, it's for my wife ! But I have many sleepless nights sitting here reading this forum trying to find out every little bit of info I can, hoping to get the latest scoop, hoping I don't miss something. I really want CamaroScotty, Fbodfather, themole, number3, or someone to be able to answer all of our stupid questions and make all of us feel better, but the fact is they have already done way more than we could really have hoped for.

Do I think GM could do better ? Certainly. Personally I haven't bothered calling the 800 number, I think it would be a waste of time and resources, theirs and mine. I really don't understand why GM didn't bother putting together a website for us to track our orders, good grief, every e-commerce site on the planet can do it why not them ? I really feel that an 800 number is out dated, at least for this type of thing, and if they had set this up it would free up their people to answer the real customer service calls that it is set up for ... But over all I think they are really trying to put together a good car that we will all enjoy.

Also. think about the fact that it is a 2010... and we are getting it before Oct-Nov. ( I hope ) when the new model year usually comes out, it seems kind of hard to complain about getting next years car six months early ....

Gee you come off a little testy. I am only saying if they were going to do a program I think they should have given those priority. I don't see what is so bad about that. We are not in a unique position to order a car the way we want it right from the factory. That can be done by anyone anytime.

It's getting ugly in here. Come on guys it's a car. Sure I'd be disappointed if things fell through, but it's not like GM is hurting my family or taking food off my table. It's corny saying but it works for me. If it was ment to be it will happen.
OK rip away......................

Don't mean to sound testy..

Actually I'm pretty happy with the whole experience so far, I think GM has been doing a pretty damn good job, and I don't understand all the complaining.

And when you pull in your driveway with your new Camaro, they are going to be SO JEALOUS!!
You won't have to say a thing

(This waiting .... not knowing thing is killing me. My husband walked into a Dodge dealer yesterday looking for a Challenger SRT8 and they had one with his exact specs, sold it to him for dealer invoice. I am so jealous that I've been waiting since the end of October and still don't know when I'm going to get it, and I'm taking him tomorrow to pick up his Challenger. Oh yea, and he ordered a Camaro last month too, just can't wait with an open-ended delivery date).

I agree with Mutant Chicken that GM should have a website for people who have pre-ordered to go to so they can keep track of their order. Knowing something is better than all the rumors.

That would imply that GM really gives a hoot about those who pre-ordered....I'm not convinced they really do. Seems that we are just stooges in their corporate game. I can order a widget blindly off the internet and at least get a Fedex tracking number! Its no wonder car makers go out of business.
