Has anyone replaced the stock cats with offroad pipes? If I was to get this I wouldn't care about CARB and don't have my stock cats anymore.

talking to the turbonetics peeps, your better off gutting the cats. they tried off road pipes and they told me they had a lot off pinging sounds from the pipes. so they gutted the cats and it went away and unleashed more power

This of course is not legal and will not pass emissions regulations.

I know it's not legal, I don't run any cats now. I was just wondering cuz if I pull my LT's off to put this kit on I have my stock manifolds but not my stock cats. I was just thinking of going straight 2.5" to where it meets the wastegates and doubles back to the turbo...what exactly was the pinging they told you about?

It was extremely raspy and did not sound good at all.

Yes the kit was designed around using the stock fuel pump. The only time we would suggest going with a larger one is if you plan on running more boost with a custom tune.

I installed the jba catless mid pipes on my car when I installed this kit and at certain rpms the exhaust does make a pinging/popping sound. So, if I gut the stock mid pipes, this noise will go away?

I'm pretty sure that noise you are describing will go away if gut the stock mid pipes.
