I love both Mustangs and Camaros, and that's the way I plan to keep it! I will have both in my garage someday!

Please be sure to give the "the Mustang is a faster car" sermon to the 6 or 8 of them I've beaten at the drag strip in the past 18 months or so. During the transition from bone stock to my current state of tune. I've never been beaten by any Mustang with street tires on it....never! Yep, and I happen to be a grandfather who bought one, by the way.

Driver's ability=/= Car's ability

The Mustang is faster stock.

Importance of driver's ability > Importance of car's ability

I would always rather be a better driver than have a faster car.

The truth is the GT500 does look mean. The truth is, it IS a smaller car and "feels" smaller. The Mustang is to the Camaro as is the Civic is to the Accord.

The OPINIONS on looks are 100% accurate to the poster. So be it. But I don't want to drive a "smaller" car with the ensuing exposure to road noise, etc. I want a degree of pampering while I'm cruising and I'm willing to sacrifice a little speed for the added comfort. And, depending on driver, the bigger ZL1 will still be ABLE (on any given day) to whoop up on any of it's more prominent competitors.

Back to looks and opinions again: The Camaro looks "special".... and unique. Crafted and designed with a balance to looks over practicality. That's why you see vision being the biggest problem. The roof line is chopped. Not so on the Mustang. Some say that's a pro over the Camaro. Not to me. Now don't get me wrong, I like the feel when I sit in a Mustang, but I don't want one. I like the elbow room in a Camaro much better. And one of my biggest pet peeves on the Stang... sit in one in the rain, and you can hardly hear the radio because of the "echoing" tap tap tap taps on the hollow sounding roof. Seems like it would have been easy to put in a few pounds of insulation quiet control in it. It is very annoying and a "signal" there are shortcuts elsewhere. IMHO

Edit: And, The Camaro got TOP ratings, and higher than the Mustang, in the newer crash tests just conducted. Gotta love knowing you are in your own protected "capsule" of safety! Drive cautiously!

They designed the hard top so it doesnt make noise in the rain. Too bad they didnt put as much effort in the soft top.

I'm thinking this one has run it's course... If another mod wants to open it up, that's up to them... I've cleaned out too many personal attack posts...
