Should I supercharge or just buy new?

Here is my dilemma, I have an early 2010 2SS L99. Added CAI cold air, 1 7/8" LT Kooks, high flow cat, ATAK and dyno tune. It is only putting out 370 rear wheel horse power. A different Dyno said about 355. I also have 3.73 gears on (heard that takes away HP?). My best 1/4 mile time is 12.9 but usually 13.1 consistant. If I add a supercharger I will gain what ~100hp? I done the fuse pull thing not long after I had it but before tune. I always run 100% gas and highest octane - nothing else.

Seriously thinking about getting 2012 LS3 (or even L99). I know I am going to lose money. I am not in it to win races and stuff but wanting all the HP the Camaro is supposed to have would be nice.

Thoughts?

Cam.

Best mod for L99.

Literally turned mine into a beast from hell.

If you still think it's slow then you can supercharge it.

Wait so you want to lose a few thousand dollars for LESS hp? You know you are making more power right now than a stock LS3 right?

Why not take thouse few thousand dollars that you're going to lose in a trade in and put it towards mods on your current car? You're going to make a lot more power than a stock LS3.

It's sticky-ed on the bolt-ons front page (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36676). More dyno prints than you can shake a stick at.

My advice is to stop worrying about what the dyno tells you. It is a tool, a piece of information that tells you if your mods are taking your car in the right direction. The same car can dyno differently from day to day and from machine to machine.

What matters is if you enjoy your car. If it feels slow to you, make it faster. I would definitely pursue mods before getting taken to the cleaners on a trade-in.

Thats what I am trying to figure out. If a LS3 is around 400 RWHP and mod that - its around 500+ - Will mine ever be even close with cam+SC, maybe.

That 400 is at the crank not the wheels!

You might be confused with crank vs. rear wheel horse power. A stock LS3 is 426 at the crank, or (factoring a ~13% driveline loss) 370ish at the wheels. Subtract 26 from the crank and 87% of 26 at the wheels to figure the same for an L99 (400 crank, ~348 wheel). It's not that big of a difference. In addition, a properly tuned auto trans will blow the doors off of a manual at the drag strip.

Yes I have but nothing serious. Still torn. Would like the ZL1 of course and killed me to cancel my order. Just not really practical. I would like to have the HUD and backup camera but more interested in HP

It wont be until summer before I bite the bullet and cam/sc this one or get new one and then cam/sc that one later.

No, I just thought I read some posts and heard the LS3's going around 400 at the rear wheel stock. Guess thats not really true. Perhaps I need to pay ADM Perf in TX a visit. Mine has blown the doors of manual at the strip and close a couple corvettes. Glad it was just 1/4

Take it from me. HUD is cool, but I'd never trade up for it. You'll be paying a lot to gain a little. I also do not have a backup camera. I don't miss it.

Oh, and a s/c will get you a lot more than 100hp. Figure 140ish (20hp per psi is a good rule of thumb). I guess 100rwhp is fairly close, but then again 100rwhp is a night and day difference.

trading your 2010 for a 2012 is only going to cost you a lot of money.to me,that doesn't make any sense.you could get a ZL1 and trade your 2010.if you S/C and cam your car with all the other stuff you will have to do like lifters, valve springs, rocker arms, etc.you would be better off just getting a ZL1.that is what i would do.
