Did you already install the insulator mach? There shouldn't be any drop off in power no where in the rpm band.

No. I just gathered this from the Dyno sheets. I am trying to get this ordered but I cannot find the 25mm on Mace's website. They have one for the LLT but its only 6mm. I've contacted them.

Let me get in contact with steve@mace and see what's going on. I thought they was already selling the 25mm, 6mm, and 12mm's last time I talk to them. Maybe they are in the process of still updating everything.

EDIT: Just talk to steve and they are still updating the site but here are the part numbers for anyone that need them to order,

MI621(6mm), MI622(12mm) and MI623(25mm)

I am also a little curious about why the dyno showed a slight loss of power at the high end.

Would a retune be beneficial?

Hey guys, I'll clear this up!

I'm kuzman89 off the justcommodore forums and have a mace spacer, mace tune (trifecta).

My car was the donky in the initial tuning tests on a dyno here in Oz, and the reason for the drop off in power was it was pointless rev'n it out any longer as it wasn't making any more power. Hitting the rev limiter was pointless.

To me though this doesn't make sense because that would be a straight drop down because the rpm stopped going up look at the dyno the rpms keep going up but hp going down

The 40hp drop off at the end look like a variance when 2 dyno graph from 2 different day join together that was setup differently. If you look at both of the graph, one drop off is right around 7k and the other drop off is at 6500k rpm. That rpm difference will be enough to show 2 different slope at the end on a dyno dynamic that measure HP a little different than your average dynojet. I am sure if Aaron lost 40hp he would probably have thrown the insulator out the window LOL.

I will post up my dyno in a few so you guys can see the difference.

thats what i thought just two different days on a dyno that much of a drop would be noticable and no one would keep it on there

and with up to 40hp.. it would be almost like something pushing the brakes lol. I'm sure that would be very very noticeable. 25mm is not enough to cause drop of almost 40hp. I want to go another 12mm

If you study the seperate graphs on page 2 of this thread you'll see the avg pk. hp before was 262.03 at about 6500RPM.

With the Mace, avg pk was 259.56 at approx 6100RPM. A difference of 2.47hp.

But the important thing to see is that starting at 3000RPM up 6100, the Mace is making more HP and torque all the way up. Often it is a significant amount- the kind you can feel.

Its also worth noting that if you've got a 6spd, that 1-2 shift is successful alot more often at 6100RPM than up at 6500.

Even with a 6spd i would still wait untill redline if your running it hard becuase after the shift is what you have to look at if you shift at 6100 vs 7000 when you get to 2nd gear youll be alot lower in the power band then if you shifted at 7000 and even with a slight drop after 6100 youll still be making more power then what your next gear is. just something to think about

I believe he's pointing to the fact that a lot will shift prior to redline rather than risk the 1-2 gear grind that some are experiencing.
