I know a lot of people are using the front 18x9.5 rim from C6 Z06 Vettes. Has anyone tried a new ZR1 rim? I found these in a replica from a online place I buy tires from. The price is great if you don't get the chrome versions. They have 18x9.5 40mm offset ZR1 replica rims Hyper Silver for $128 each. Do you guys think these would work on the rear of a SS?

I called and these rims are back ordered for a few months. I bought the regular C6 ZO6 rims.

I thought I looked at this link earlier and it had the 18x9.5/40mm offset. Now they aren't showing them.

They also showed about $35 for fedex ground. If that's true for $300 these should work. Probably have to stick to a 305 wide Mickey Thompson.

I called and there are back ordered. I went ahead and bought the C6 ZO6 chrome wheels in 18x9.5 40mm offset. Also installed on them 305/45R18 MT street II DRs. The rims fit perfect on the car. No spacers and plenty of caliper clearance. I also plasti dipped the rims cuz I don't want chrome.

How much did those end up costing?

Today they have them re-listed with 18x9.5/40 mm offset for $128. With shipping it looks like $289. Pretty cheap. I would actually like them in chrome if I could.

I'll be looking to do something by the time this race season comes.

Anyone have suggestions on the best place to buy M&T ET Streets? Right now the best I've seen is about $345 ea shipped.

Call and make sure they have them in stock. Onlinetires.com also carries Mickey Thompsons. I think the ET streets are cheaper than that on their site.

Wow $128 looks sweet. How long they going to be that price? Do they mount the tires if bought together?

I don't think so. It looks like a distribution warehouse.

Ok....so I'm still researching to find what the best Wheel/Tire combo is.

I like the C5 Z06 wheel (18x10.5) as well as the C6 Grand Sport (18x9.5). Both replicas wheels are about the same price ($375 for a pair shipped).

I'm also looking at maybe using the M&H 275/45/18 instead of the MT 305/40/18. The overall diameter is a little smaller (27.75" overall vs 29" stock). Would the M&H at 275 wide be too narrow for the C5 Z06 18x10.5 wheel?

I like the idea of the smaller diameter to give it the effect of having some lower gears but on the flip side I like the taller sidewall to give it more rubber to absorb some drivetrain shock (I'm worried about breaking something).

I might stick with the C6 18x9.5 with the M&H 275 though. No matter which of those combos I would go with it's going to cost about $1,000 for everything. So then it comes down to which is going to be the best combination for a car running about 450 rwhp.

Any thoughts.....

i could be wrong , but i remember way back..couple guys who used the c5 wheels had to run a spacer..you may want to double check that info...1 guy was out of ny, i believe..here is 9ball tire solution and sizing..so appears that the 275 is to narrow...won,t be able to flex well, imo 275/50-18 = 28.8" tall, 9.0-9.5 wheel
285/45-18 = 28.1" tall, 9.5-10.0 wheel
295/45-18 = 28.5" tall, 10.0-10.5 wheel
