Plug and wire question?

What plugs and wires are tuners using on cammed LS3 cars? I have about 21K miles on the car so I felt the need to change the plugs, wires, and add a catch can. Any recommendations?

For plugs it all depends on your tune. Personally I run the stock GM plugs based on the recommendation from Ted @ JRE. You are going to get all different answers on this.

I have the Taylor 10.5 mm race wires, no issues with them. I like the thicker wire for the look and performance.

Crime2 has it right, be prepared for an intense "discussion" on this.

We use stock wires and NGK plugs. Just works for us.

Performance plug wires are for noobs. I always run stock wires in my cars. My buddy is looking to run 9's on motor in his Camaro and he runs stock wires.

We use MSD or Granatelli Wires and OEM Plugs.

Ted.

I recently installed MTI Racing wires on my LS3. The OEM wires all read between 770 to 780 ohms resistance. The MTI wires read between 24 to 30 ohms resistance. My observation with the MTI wires is the cold start ( when in open loop ) is much smoother as well as the transition to closed loop versus the OEM wires, there is quite a noticeable difference. With the OEM wires cold engine drivability was a bit jerky and not real smooth until the engine was well on it's way to being fully warmed up. With the MTI wires the cold engine drivability is 98% as smooth as fully warmed up engine drivability.

Ted that is exactly the route I went!! Kinda funny you said that you can't buy experience, they worked on the last ten hot rods I've owned!!! Ford or chevy the use of MSD, OEM plugs, and a hurst shifter have been the most consistant combo that works!!! I will be giving you a call tomorrow about the LPE 3.91 gears!! Unless you suggest a set of ported heads?!?!
