Since you asked about Jeeps or STI's...I have never owned an STI...but have had a few Jeep products. Do not own one out of warranty. Ever. The Wrangler is not too bad to fix by yourself, but the Grand Cherokee's can gut your wallet.

Personally, I would keep the Camaro and get a winter beater/cheap car to drive when the weather sucks. Of course, I don't know what your parking/insurance issues are in Long Island.

To even ask such a question is Camaro blasphemy, therefore, you should sell your Camaro to a more worthy owner who would never have that same thought cross their cortex. The shame.

I sold my STi for my camaro SS... Still love subaru! Im planning on a GC8 build sometime soon.

Here is the thing... If you go with a WRX, STi, or EVO (eww haha jk) Because they are great cars all year round then here is somthings to consider.

It is very easy to turn one of these cars into a track monster. Trust me I know... And that modding bug will hit hard. So with that said what could end up happening is you do coilovers and lower it... you end up getting some nice rims with some good track tires. Add some more power to it. Maybe do a 20g turbo and then get hooked on boost then you get a 35r then you have to get a rotated turbo setup with all supporting mods (and be on your 2nd to 3rd motor...)blah blah blah...

so then after year what do you got? a car that your most likly not going to take out in the snow. Make enough power to sill give you traction issues in bad weather... your right back to the start. BUT that is if you mod it... which... we all know is going to happen... haha

I would keep the camaro. Get a nice used truck for the winter, and maybe sell the MC for some funds to pay for a truck or maybe some more stuff for the camaro... haha

My sti when it was great in the winter! ( still low though but I was in GA)

and then not so great....

Guess its up toyou how much self control you got.

By the way I my cars in order 68 camaro (still have) 2003 WRX (sold) 2005 STi (sold) 2011 camaro (current) 96-2001 2.5rs (NEXT!)

You could but I guaranty you'd regret it. The fact that you only use it some of the time just makes me enjoy mine more. If anything your problem is you like it so much you hate only being able to drive the Monte in the winter months. Maybe trade that in on something else?

All cars listed are awsome. A modern camaro is a amazing car... but there are other fish in the sea.

And Wrangler isn't going to be your BFF if you are using to commute back and forth (gas mileage is hideous). But they are easier to fix YJ's and TJ's.

Got my car in oct. I live in ny, it's winter...yea I guess I'll get another car..
YEA RIGHT!
I don't know how some1 can get this car, or any car for that matter and think about changing. Didn't you know where you lived? Or that it was rwd/not good driving in snow. And it only snowed in ny twice so far, in October and a few days ago.

as I recall, we put a line in one of our Camaro Brochures in the late 90s -

It read "...sure....you could buy a more practical car - but then you'd have to drive it!.."

UPDATE!!! ok i just want to let everyone know that i wrote that first post during the GIANTS game which they ended up winning to go to the superbowl, at the time i was a little inebriated and very angry that they were play like such garbage!@$#@! I don't know why i even thought about trading my car for something else i felt so bad i went out today and had to do a little something nice for her...[/IMG]

I think i just took it out on my camaro because im stuck driving this Monte everyday and i need something else!! so what i will do is get rid of the monte and buy a different dd like an r32 or sti or something like that for the snow rain and winter and keep the camaro for everything else in between

When I lived in Ohio I always had 2 cars, one for work and the winter months and my toy which was for non winter driving.I never spent more than a couple grand on a beater but I would get at least 5 yrs. out of the beater driving the two off and on.Go buy a beater and enjoy the ride.

Me I'd get the Mazda 626 and use the Camaro as a beater...

All kidding aside, stick with what makes you the happiest. All things being equal, I really love the Camaro, it's my favorite of all the cars I ever drove even the '72 Nova I had and that was a fun car.

I'm fortunate now to be in a position in my life where I have my own house and I have the Camaro and the means to maintain it properly!

Maybe others don't think like this but I feel it's the best money I ever spent on a car and I'd never go back nor comprimise, ever.

But see, that's right for me. I'm cool with not having it available in the winters. Makes me appreciate every minute I spend in it all the more when the weather is good.

I do this with every major purchase. I buy a house or new car or what ever. I think to myself what did I just do? Am I crazy? Then I think to myself, wow I just bought a house or a Camaro, yeah! Then I know for a fact I made the right decision, because I second guess the purchase. If I didn't second guess myself, then I may start to think it wasn't such a good idea. I think that's human nature. I hope that helps. Just food for thought.
