Yeah Track Nights I usually have a cooler with bags of ice and in between runs soaking the intake manifold and intake tube with bags of ice. Not sure if it makes a huge difference, but you got to try something different every week I've toyed with the idea of header wrap. Car is never driven in salt, snow, or rain so I don't think I'd have to worry about rot that bad.

Testing Results

We hope it is obvious to the readers of this thread that everyone here at Pfadt has taken the concerns with these lowering springs seriously and have worked many hours of tech support on the phone and internet to get to the bottom of the reported issue. In addition, we have spent days in-house working on recreating the problem posed in this thread, and a solution if necessary.

We have received the springs back marked by SSSoon, and then re-marked each coil clearly just so there was no confusion. Once we received the springs back we duplicated the scenario of SSSoon's install, and professionally installed the springs ourselves. We can report that the noises SSSoon has witnessed in his install were not present in our install under the same circumstances. We have a quick video of our testing below. It should be noted that we did our testing with engine OFF in the video to catch even the slightest noise if any, there is also no noise produced with the engine started with power steering assist. The only perceivable noises present are tire scrubbing and steering rack.

SSSoon's original conclusion that the cause of the noise being the Pfadt lowering springs is unfortunately incorrect. We regret that there was ever a perceived problem with the springs he received and the noise was never pinpointed. Certainly there is something logical that the install caused the noise, but after professionally installing and testing the exact product in question on our own 2010 Camaro SS, it is clear that the product is functioning as designed and is not producing the noises highlighted in SSSoon's videos.

We genuinely feel that we have done everything in our power to help our customer get to the bottom of an issue, but unfortunately we have exhausted every opportunity to re-create the potential noise. Regardless of the implication our parts were at fault and the outcome of our testing proving otherwise, it is important to note that we provided the customer with a full refund.

I don't think anyone concluded that Pfadt equipment was the sole fault. Just a weird dynamic somewhere.

Wow....

The only suspension work I have done to my car is your guys springs and my car makes the EXACT SAME SOUNDS that SSSoon's car was making and ill take a video of it too if youd like. I contacted you guys the Monday after I had my springs installed and told you the problems I was having and you guys said its the installers fault. Well you guys also talked directly to that installer and couldnt come to a conclusion as to why it was making the noises other than the fact that they did "something wrong."

After 2 free additional trips to that installer with no luck, I decided to pay another place to look at my car. I took it to Loud Pedal, one of your Licensed dealers and a bad ass shop, to look at everything. They uninstalled everything and re-did it and said everything looked correct the first time and after their install it STILL made the exact same noise and they couldnt tell me why either.

Being a full time student and working part time. I didnt have the time or money to go thru the extensive amount trouble that SSSoon did to find out what the problem was and just figured I could live with a little clunking when I turn.

He removed the springs and the noise went away, so how is it not the springs?

Id love to see you guys install the springs on my car and make the noise go away.

Pfadt,
I appreciate that you posted your findings here. That shows that you really do care, and you should. I somehow feel insulted here too, as I had the same problem until I replaced the product. The springs worked FINE on another camaro.

The part where I think you guys went wrong here is that you have come to a conclusion without performing every test. This test is not as easy for you, I understand. But to draw a full conclusion that it is the installers fault, is not looking at all of the possibilities.

What you haven't tested yet, is a car that is experiencing the problem. If there are differences in the cars, then that could point out the problem. Find someone close by that has the problem, and diagnose THAT CAR! I think it is a problem that your springs work on some cars and not others. A tolerance issue or something like that. Please look at every possibility before pointing fingers.

Who keeps suggesting to grease the suspension? I was reading another thread with these springs making noise and it also mentions using grease.

Never use grease to 'lubricate' your springs or where they mount, no matter who makes them.
