2008 Phila. Auto Show revisited/Camaro thoughts
I went back to the Phila. Auto Show last night for a 2nd time. I was anxious to see the "production" Challenger as this was the first night it was at the show. After looking over the Challenger, my next stop was the Convertible Camaro Concept. I thought I'd hang around the car and get some reactions;
"I like this better than the Challenger" (heard that quite a few times) "WOW! That car is beautiful" (again, heard quite a few times) "Are they really making this?!" (that reaction seemed to be one of hope.) "When I can buy it?" (yep. quite a few times) "I love it!" (too many times to count) I could go on, but the general response was nothing but positive. And in all honesty, I did hear one person make a negative comment. I thought I'd wander around the car, and listen to what people were saying, and after being there for about a half an hour, truth be known, only one person had anything negative to say about the new Camaro. The crowd around the Camaro even exceeded the one around the ZR1. GM/Chevrolet has a couple of "sure fire" hits on their hands. I cannot wait to own my own. |

+1!!! I think the ZR1 looks SO bad @$$, OMG! If I had $100K+, I'd be all over that. But alas, I'm just as excited about the Camaro, if not more. That car fits my personality better What was the negative comment, BTW?

For the time being, I only have the picture taken by the "gmphotoshop" person at the show. I preface this picture by saying it would have been much better w/o me in it!
Arriving there at 6:30AM for the 'Enthusiast Event', I was half-awake when the picture was taken. ![]() I found out the memory card in the camera was not fully inserted, so once I can, I'll post the remainder of photo's. |

"What is GM thinking?"
The guy was with a group of his "buddies", and I got the impression he wasn't impressed with many of the GM/Chevrolet vehicles. I think he may have been a troll sent over from the Ford contingent to spy on the competition.

I went there yesterday but unfortunately my camera broke the night before. I took a lot of pictures of it with my phone though. It truly is a beauty =] I knew i wasn't going to be able to touch it but i was still disappointed that I couldn't sit in it.

I was there this past Saturday and generally heard the same things. I did hear a couple people say they liked the Challenger a lot more and that GM is always lagging behind Ford and Chrysler in terms of innovation, but overall people were very excited. I think there were more people crowded around the Camaro than any other car at the show.
I also directed a few people to this site who were asking where to get info on the production model. Hopefully they followed through and are now members.
