v8 mpg - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I'm thinkin about trading in my 2010 camaro v6 for a 2012 camaro SS. My question is how bad is the mpg compared to a v6 under normal driving. I saw the sticker tag on both the v6 and the v8 only had a 1mpg difference. Thx for the answers.

I avg 17mpg and drive about 75% of the time in traffic under 40mph. I'm not easy on it either when i have room to run.

It all depends on how you drive it. If I take it easy I get about 19 mpg in town and 28 highway. If I drive a little more spirited I get 16 in the city and 22 highway.

never gotten over 16.5 mpg.

Part of the reason I'm slipping into v8 mode...my current v6 is avg 19.8 and that's Just not good enough to justify not getting a v8.

You can get great mileage in a SS. Just don't drive with a lead foot and you'll get decent mileage.

That's what I love about the M6, you can choose what RPM you cruise at.

I have the LS3 and I have 7k on my 2012. Lifetime I am averaging 20 mpg.

I wouldn't make a decision based on a few miles per gallon, and that's about all the difference it is!

16-17 with bolt ons in sig...

If you getting 30, you are doing quite a bit of highway or open road driving... you won't see that with everyday city driving. I am hard on mine and I still stay above 16.

Even w a CAI I cant get higher then 16.3mpg in city driving.

I think alot of you are waaaaaay too worried what other people think!!!

No one is making me feel so bad about my little v6 that I'm going to spend thousands more so they can look at my v8 and say "you should have bought a Vette."

There will ALWAYS be something else for someone to say you "should" have bought.
