Pierced hole

So someone drove into the back of my car and it seems like their bolts on their license plate pierced my bumper. What do I do and how much does it cost to repair. And I'm guessing the dealership won't cover this?

2 options

1. call the cops, and report the accident, then pay your deductible, and have it fixed

2. if your deductible is too high, go to a body shop have them sand it, patch it, and blend the paint. What ever is cheaper id do, depends on your deductible really. And how much the body shop will charge

I got a huge door ding a while back. My deductible was $250 and i the fix at the dentless place cost $300 so i ate the $50 and didnt report it.

If you have insurance, and you should, contact them. But before you do that, call around and get a repair estimate and see which method cost less compared to your insurance deductible.

Had a similar thing happen to me not to long ago and insisted my insurance replace my front bumper cover, even though a shop could of easily repaired it. I don't like the idea of patching up plastic.

Good luck.

Also, if you do go the route of trying to get a new number cover, even though it can be fixed. Don't back down. Because the insurance company will try to go the cheapest route also. Even the guy at the shop I was taking it to told me I had very little chance of getting a brand new bumper. Just remember, it's YOUR car and what happens to it is your decision.

If it is the black plastic piece I believe those are fairly cheap and easy to replace something around $80 I think?
