Now I'll start here, there is alot of plastic. However, it's like it is in my Hummer. Tons of plastic, but since the car is so defiant and looks nothing like anything else it doesn't seem cheap! Also, there is a few things that really distract you from the plastic dash, like the acrylic door panels. Very cool. The car will DEFINITELY look amazing at night though, and be an eye candy PARLOR with the ambient lighting.

The seats are comfy, nice and soft. Back seats are inhabitable.

The steering wheel is huge, and nice! The buttons on it are deep set and hard to access though.

I REALLY disliked the vanity mirrors. They are very small, and have a sliding plastic door infront of them. NO light.

The Control panel for AC and everything is confusing at first glace but actually very efficient once you get used to it.

Now, for 35,000$+ is this interior cutting it? No. Luckily, the car has the motor to back up the price tag, and the killer looks. But in all honesty, I expected more. Especially a GPS screen, they really add visual value to the vehicle. The Challenger's interior (RT, not SRT8) is definitely nicer feeling. The SRT is VERY nice but expensive. Dodge does it good on interiors. My Honda also has a more "luxurious" feel.

Now, does this matter? It's up to you. Me personally, I'm buying the Camaro purely for how BADASS it is! The looks, the motor, the sound. But, if you're buying it for a nice high quality interior it ain't for you.
Vanity Mirror? Are you putting on your makeup while you drive?

I think the bottom line is that both V6 and SS Camaros have significantly more money put into them than similar trim Challenger or Mustang (or anything else) when you look at the mechanical items. I mean engine, trans, brakes, rims/tires, suspension. But they are still priced very close to the other models. When you look at a 370z, what does it come with that a v6 camaro does'nt? Maybe slightly better brakes and tires, that is about it. The main differences are in the interior, that is why it costs $30,000 instead of $23,000. So it all comes down to how you want to spend your money. For many people, the interior of a more luxurious car may be worth more to them. For me, it is more than enough, and I would much rather have all the goodies the Camaro comes with than an out of date Ford drivetrain, or an overpriced Chrysler drivetrain and a nav screen and a 'soft' dash.

Maybe slamming your fist against a soft dash and programming your nav screen to take you back home when you get your ass handed to you by a Camaro is nicer for the driver?

I prefer the touch screen of my Prius, but I'm a tech junkie and just love touch screens. If you can't touch it and make it work its already out of date.

IMO, only the interior is retro..I didn't buy one for the interior. The exterior appearance and perfomance value was selling point. If you want to buy for interior and performance, buy a more luxurious exotic. Stang appearance stagnant, interior and performance only worthwhile. The challenger's lines are nice-but pricey. Bottom line-to each his/her own...

BTW, are the airplane-style gauges by the shifter std or optional(C&C package?)..

Mustang doesn't look all that special either.

Most vehicles are ugly with that big SatNav screen. Gimme a portable Garmin over a built-in anyday...
idk if i would call this ugly at all..

2009. All the radio buttons are dual-pivoting, and perfectly flush. They don't look like a bunch of little moles on an otherwise perfectly flat surface.

I agree. I've played with the "Infotainment" center quite a bit in the last week, and I really like the functionality and the fit & finish. The rocker buttons are very nice to work, and the two dials are actually quite intuitive and easy to maniupulate. They aren't big "buttons" that belong on a 1992 talkboy.

Frankly, 1 less feature to break imo....

I am a IT guy, but my car is my haven, it's the one place I typically go to get away from computer screens, Keyboards, and mice! I want a Camaro BECAUSE the interior does not have a computer screen yelling at me. That would be too much like work!

yeah, i like the camaros because of the lack of a huge flat panel with buttons and a screen

I actually kinda like the big huge open area in front of the passenger. I'll have a picture or design or logo dyed on it.

One reason I am not getting a 2SS is the acylic door panels! Not sure why they went that direction. Lots of scratches and scuffs that won't go away.

No, but when my girlfriend wants to check herself in the mirror and she flips down the sunblocker and sees that I KNOW she'll be thinking, "What the hell is this?"

I mean, what I'm saying is this. For 40 grand, they really did a shotty job. My 32k Accord truly does have a nicer interior. Do I care? Not a bit. Do other people getting in and out of my Camaro care? Probably. They Probably are thinking, "Oh wow Dillon, wait to buy a top engine Camaro and cheap on the interior".
