Clutch Problem!!

Need your guys help!! There's this loud popping almost banging sound every time I step on the clutch when the car is turned on. but the sound goes away when I turn the car off. what could be causing this popping sound? Should I be worried?

Or is this popping sound normal when its cold or just normal at all?

Heres a Vid of it.

When the engine is running you let the clutch out and it will engage itself and the mainshaft in the trans. Its hard to tell but its either the clutch or trans. making the noise.

Looks like you found the first thing that needs to be upgraded in the Camaro SS.

I think its the clutch cuz it only happens when the trans is in Nutral. But when I start driving the sound goes away and even when parked but the trans is engaged. But ones it's in nutral it makes that banging pop sound.

Could this be something major?? Cuz my car is my DD to school. Could something really bad happen?

I took my car to the dealer yesterday to get my clutch problem checked out and they told me that they cant diagnose it because I had an aftermarket shifter on! I thought that wus a BS reason. The shifter has no connection with the clutch. And how could a shifter effect the clutch?

And They told me that it could be the clutch spacer or master slave cylinder or something thats causing the popping sound and the 1st,2nd gear slip. and my best bet would be to replace my clutch??

This is a long shot but have you checked you reservoir to make sure it has enough fluid and not getting air in the system? Again, its a long shot put worth the 10 seconds to look.

Yes it does have fluid in it.

I probably will go with a stage 3 clutch.

the noise is getting worst.

Wonder if it is an issue with the throwout bearing? Looking at the video it seems like the noise is happning at the end of the clutch pedal travel. Well that would be about where the throwout bearing is making contact/pressure on the diaphram of the clutch. Something is not right there for sure and I wouldn't drive it much until you open it up and take a look.

Now you learned 2nd. thing, 1st. was clutch is garbage 2nd. is GM will not fix anything as long as they can find some reason to weasle out of it. Now that you installed a shifter, they'll blame all your issues on the shifter.

It is more than likely the Clutch Slave Cylinder.. I have been through 4 of them.. I haven't found an upgraded/aftermarket slave cylinder yet..
