LS3 Parking Brake

i have a l99 and i have tried to put my car in neutral and pull the parking brake, just to see if it will hold the car. Anyways the car was not able to stay in one spot, it kept rolling. Does the LS3 have the same problem? Is it sketchy to leave your LS3 in neutral with your parking brake up?

You have to pull up pretty hard to engage the parking brake. But either or, I leave Kaylee in neutral with the parking brake. Unless I'm on a hill or something.

Yea I think the default setting requires you to yank that pretty hard.

Parking brake is the "weakest" I've had on any car...the only time I use it is on a level grade, and even then I really gotta pull...I think we're gonna see them failing and not holding up in the near future...

Be careful, don't rely on it too much...its not just an L99 thing..at least you can use "park" instead of nuetral...

I use the brake + first gear to be safe.

Reverse has a higher gear ratio.

I think it depends on uphill or downhill for first or reverse...

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought reverse was the same as first, that is you are just "reversing" first gear...

Set the brake, release the foot brake and let the parking brake take the weight of the car, then put it in first gear and your good.

That is what I always do and mine holds fine. Looks like you need an adjustment.

Reverse is its own gear

You may need to adjust the parking brake cable
