Hybrid Camaro, new fuel economy rules = way higher price?

No, its the amount manufactured. Go back to the link I posted earlier and it tells you in black and white how the calculation is done. Like I said, all chevy needs to do is produce the right proportions of each vehicle to meet the regulation, if anything they can cut the price of the car that gets the most gas milage by say.... 1000 bucks and distribute that cost over the 5 other models under the fleet to cover the cost, making each car only 200 bucks more expensive. They do that type of thing in the hospital industry all the time. The only question I would have would be what vehicle goes into what fleet.

1. a hybrid camaro would be great i might buy one...
2. a camaro is a camoro its not a vett and can actually be better than a vette because for many a vette is too small
3. gm will make it one way or the other...it just needs to dump a lot of crap, one way or the other it will dump the crap or die eventually
4. these are just production cars, if you want a space ship then build one your self as a one off, gm is in the mass manufacturing business...get a clue already..

That being said, a hybrid Camaro is an abomination. You can not provide the same power that makes a Camaro a Camaro with an electric motor doing most of the easy driving... Now, if they came up with a clean fuel alternative that worked in the engines and kept the same power ratio, then we'd be talking.
