Yeah, the thing about out 2012 V6's is there's a big variance between "city" and highway mileage. I live in a hilly area and if I'm good, I can get 25 easily. Get on the gas for passing or just zipping along at higher speeds and it drops pretty quick to 20-22, then high teens if I am aggressive on the gas around town from stops, etc. But there's a 5 miles stretch near me that's pretty flat and cruise controlling it at 65mph got me 30. Impressive that for 2012 they are able to come up with almost 325hp capable of this. Way to go Chevy!

My take is it's eco-politics Up here in the Northeast we are having the 2nd warmest winter on record (so far) and I suspect with less heating oil being sold they have to start to make it up on drivers and blaming mideast is already handy!

Not really so. Yes things cost more as time goes by but does not need to be as volatile as gas has been. We were paying $1.84 a gal in January '09.

One can vote better gas prices or at least a more stable supply of oil and even building a new refinery or two if you vote out the ones beholden to the extreme greenies...We are a world market and we must increase supply (we have plenty here unproduced) to help stabilize oil and gas prices.

And yes I drive what I want but when gas hits 6-10 it will change your/my outlook.

Not to mention the hit the economy will take. For every .25-.50 increase in gas about 35 BILLION plus is taken out of the economy by being redirected to gas. Meaning for .25 increase 35 Billion is not spent on food, vacations, going out, CARS, houses etc...

it's the crappy weather(salt/snow roads) keeping me from driving mine..and not having to run on premium is icing on the cake. Gas prices on Mars is rediculous.

i'm not trying to tease anyone here :P
the only thing that makes me drive my camaro less than usual is the crappy roads we have here

gas prices in SA : a little less than 50 cent per gallon for the unleaded 95 octane

No worries here. It will be the same as in 2008 when everyone panicked and traded in there gas guzzlers for go carts. One year later gas prices dropped and these folks were stuck with their gas saving downgrades or quick to go get that big bad truck or suv again. It's an ever reoccurring cycle with these petroleum companies and with people trading cars (wasting more money in the long run) to have a gas saver when gas prices go up. On a positive note, it helps keep the auto business going.
