OMG, thats insane. I didnt even know 3.3 seconds was possible in an Escalade. I guess anything is possible with enough money. I couldnt imagine being in a 6k pound SUV with 1000hp going 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. INSANE.

It's too bad that they are more at home on the track than real world roads where I do most of my driving.
It's also still a Datsun at that price. I think the GT-R gets snubbed frequently by it's nameplate. It's performance makes it a bargain indeed but there is little to no heritage. If you were going to spend $100,000 on a car, there are more identifiable and respected choices out there. They may not perform as well on a track but are more "prestigious" and don't resemble boy-ricer, play station games.

Are there sales numbers available for the GT-R? I rarely see them on the road, I'm wondering how many they actually sell...

I think that depends on where you live I've only seen one here and it was at a dealership but from what I understand they seem to be alot more common on the west coast.

The 1/4 mile comes up in 11.3 @ 124mph on street tires. I can't wait to see what they do with the ZL1........ although some of their SS Camaros go for 80K plus so I can't imagine the $$$ for this pkg on the GM SUVs or ZL1s

I'm not entirely sure I follow your logic here.

Just because a car (in this case the ZL1) was designed to compete with something, does not automatically mean it will defeat it in every category. I don't understand why some people aren't happy with losing to a car that costs significantly more by only a small margin.

Also, as much fun as it is to make fun of Nissan (insert any other make you don't care for) and laugh at the thought of spending that much on one and having something happen, understand there are just as many people who laugh at the idea of spending 50,000 dollars on a Camaro (or Mustang, or etc...)

personally, I think it's stupid to dog another make on such a shallow premise...

Edit: not trying to sound "preachy" I assume it's all in good fun, and I'm guilty of the same thing from time to time...

Also, maybe looking down on the gtr (or any car thats not "american") seems to be mostly a gung ho american midwest thing because most people up here realize and know that other cars and brands can be special and very capable.

There are also a lot of Asians in San Jose, silcon valley, who tend to prefer foreign speedsters vs. american muscle (in no way do I mean this to be racist)

I agree with the spirit of your comment, but I'm not sure the average Joe makes enough money to spend $60K on a car, and not be completely broke! Glad if you're in that position but I wouldn't call that average

true. And your statement didnt sound racist at all. I absolutely love the diversity here in the bay area.
