I believe it is 20-150. I had many applications that required less then 20. That's why I got both. I recently used the 3/8" to snug up a Camaro drain plug (18 ft/lbs i believe it was) and bolts on intake and the 1/2" to tighten up the lugs (140 ft/lbs) on the wheels.

I haven't used the adapter yet but it is just your typical adapter.

I picked up a CDI on eBay for around fifty bucks. They are the same thing as snap on. Good stuff.

I don't think you could get by without both. I just walked in the house from installing Dynatech headers. The instructions say to torque bolts to 20 lbs. First, I've read that most torque wrenches (unless super high quality) are not as accurate at the top and bottom of their ranges. I don't know how try that it is but because I knew I needed something in the 10-20 range, I got the 3/8". Second, the 1/2" is big. I test fit it on the header bolts just because of your question and I could not have gotten the job done.

I bought some caps for my strut towers & it says I need a torque wrench to install them. Would the same ones noted above work for that job? (Help out a newby)

I guess it depends on what torque the fasteners (assuming they have fasteners. I have not see one installed) require and what size socket you are driving.

If the requirement falls between the ranges listed on the wrench and the socket you attach it to matches, then you should be good to go.

Is that what you are asking? What do the instructions say specifically?

I will have to get them out of the shed. I just want to be sure & buy the right tool. I'll look at it when I get a chance. Too cold to go out there right now.

If it is important enough to torque, it is important enough to use quality tools. I have a standard click type 1/2 drive Snap On for large stuff, a 3/8 drive flex head click Snap On for intermediate, and a 3/8 drive dial MAC for delicate projects.

I like to shop a few of my local pawn shops for tools. But do your research and you can find some some great deals.

This is timely. I have not bought a torque wrench before. I was looking for something to keep my header bolts torqued and lug notes checked before racing. I was looking at the 1/2" Craftsman. Sounds like I may need a 3/8" as well. What about a flexable head? Thanks, hope this is not thread jacking

I use a kobalt and harbor freight torque wrench. They both are within 5% of the snap on I tested them with.

The one tool I'd recommend from harbor freight is their torque wrenches..
