I love how this topic comes up on a 580hp car that still gets 20mpg.
If you can afford to drive a truck or suv this car is no issue. Our cummins only gets 18. Be different if it go 10mpg or something. I have never even owned a car that got much over 25. Now that I think about it my 08 c6 vett was the most fuel efficient car I have ever owned. Ha ha.

Yeah, that sounds like the ultimate easy commute
My job fully subsidies public transportation. I live right near the train and it drops me off literally in front of my office, takes 30 minutes. If I drove, not only would I have to pay for gas, I'd have to pay $10 for parking, and the commute would be twice as long. It's a no brainer, regardless of how much I'd love to drive my car. I currently fill up the tank in my daily driver, which I will keep as a beater, every 4-6 weeks.

I used to be Dragoneye...

Highway trips might merit over 20mpg....damn good if you ask me.
(I'll have to report back when I drive some 500 +/- miles to the Fest in August) That said....No. Gas prices will not effect me. And my hope is that by the time gas becomes stupid-expensive, E85 pumps will be installed near me and I can convert the Z...to get more power, of course! |

Just another gas scare we should all be used to it. It will go back down just give it time. It will probably be back to 3 before most of you even get your zl1. Mayb iran will explode while they try to shut off the pipeline! Would not make a great location for a war!

Order in on 13' ZL1 vert
|
Lol......same here on my Dodge Magnum SRT8 since I added the Magnacharger 2300 to the 426 Hemi (11 mpg city from 15).....and am looking forward to some more efficient blower-assisted power efficiency.
One thing GM does REALLY well, is give premium power with incredible gas mileage on high performance cars like the Vette, Camaro, Caddy,.....all while maintaining a warranty |

5 MPG disadvantage to some other mediocre car. So, 150 miles in ZL1 cost me 10 gallons (maybe only 8!). In Mr. Mediocre it would cost me say 6-7 gallons. Net to me is 3 gallons or $15 BUCKS max.
So, for $15 bucks a pop, what do you want in your control? Mr. Mediocre or Highest Performance Camaro ever produced? Gimme a break! Last edited by htron50; 02-24-2012 at 08:35 PM. Reason: Edit: Imagine how many folks would pay you that for a 10 minute ride! LOL |
