Again, C6 Corvette roofs flying off. Wind tunnel tested and approved. Still happened in the real world.

What are you talking about, this an actually legitimate concern. The only one whining in this thread is you.

You sound like some kids father trying to defend his kid who can do no harm, Its pretty weird actually.

Anyway, this could just be a fluke. The guy did say it was a pre production car so there is a chance this has already been caught. I won't start really worrying until some owners start having the same problem.

NEWS, yeah just plagiaries fan forms?
Can we wait for 2 or 3 cars with the same issue before we scrap 15,000 of them?
Wow, there up to 15,000 now?

Ok, for those saying it's from an impact: Where are the chips in the paint? Where are the wrinkles? If something hit it hard enough to cause those cracks, it would have to have damaged the paint, caved in the spot where it actually impacted, and compressed something.

It's either wind, or someone overtightened some bolts.

That is my feeling on this too. Like I said on some earlier reply, we thoroughly inspected that nose shell for signs of impacts and spider webs in the paint. No scuffs, no spiderwebs existed. If it had hit something, it must have had a pillow attached first. The cracks were confusing to us, until the technician walked up a few minutes later and told us about the high speed tests causing them.

There is not evidence to say it wasn't, first place I would look at is underneath the front of the car. You could park and rake it over a curb and achieve this! JMO. If this is a real issue it will start showing up and GM will have to address it. Until there is more instances there is not alot that can or will be done. 1st run it is possible it is a issue, but there is not enough instances to come to that conclusion just yet. IMO. Let's just wait and see!

The way the cracks formed it looks like the mailslot might have caused it. Perhaps a brace was missing on this car in that area?

That would be even worse than 155mph. Who doesn't park up to a curb often?

I am willing to wait an extra month or more to get this problem fixed before my car is built. Ugh, this is so disappointing, assuming it isn't an isolated case.

no one really knows the speed the car was going .all they knew was there top end speed at 155 .so whos to say it didnt crack at 100 or 110 or 120 we need to investigate a little more on what speed it started cracking also did anyone take pictures off this car before the events . maybe it was already cracked by crashing in to something

In the repic' , shot number one.......tell me I am seeing thing but if you look carefully, follow the crack down....and around the corner......to the left in the shadow.....I see more cracks or wrinkles!! Check it out and comment.

Anyway this crack is stress related and may be a one off. May be a poor installation. I am sure that it is not a Camaro design issue or it would have reared it's ugly head during the thousands of miles of testing!

Nuff said, I have no worries........bring me my baby!

I've been waiting longer then most on here or anywhere else for this. and it's sad that you would have to cut something off that you really enjoyed because of such negative people.

it's first year bugs, and they will be fixed. so stop complaining about how gm put out a car with such a defect. you begged them to release the car, they did. like I said they were damned if they did damned if they didn't. can't please people.

All in All man.. there is some whining on these forums but you picked the wrong thread to start your bitch fest 2009 about it.

This is a legit issue and if its not brought up it could go some time before GM won't know about it... if they don't already.

PS, you along with the others here aren't sure when / how it happened, it could have happened at 70mph with a 5-10 mph wind.. you don't know, we don't know.

Looks like to me that some one sat on the front of the car, hit somithing, or pushed on the front of the car to move, or some thing of that nature. Theres no way the front end moved up in high speed runs causing cracks, if it did it would be pulling away from the front fenders.
