20 inch rim and tires are a bitch to launch..

I bet the automatic hits the manufacturers figures time after time..

Sticks are drivers game..

JMO but the guys with manuals will figure out the best launch for performance runs to equal the et's of the automatics and the trap speeds will show the added power of the manuals..

Trap speeds show the power of the car.. ET's are driver skill launching..

AHHH let the games begin!!!, Horsepower is fun to brag about and have but is not everything. I've already stated in another thread that there will be some good LT1 and LS1 drivers out there that will spank some of these new SS's. That doesn't mean that the SS's are not great cars. I'm sure they are/will be. I still have my '97 Z28 A4 with 3:23 gears and I'm letting you guys all sort out just how good the new SS will be bone stock. Then I'll decide what to buy. Thanks for all your hard work!!!! LOL!!!! We waited 3 years for this car, in 3 months we will have a pretty good idea what to expect from the stock SS.

the magazines that got 13.0 never actually showed the viewers the time. Makes me wonder if they actually got a 13.0

Everyone needs to calm down. IT WAS 88* AT THE TRACK. Not a good day to get great numbers, plus the vette guys have said that after 2500 miles the LS3 wakes up a little more. 20" wheels aren't make for the strip. The great equalizer are real road conditions, at stop light race the Camaro will hold it's own. This was only one car on one day.

Let me tell after driving the car I am pretty certain the car will run much better times with a tunes. TQ management is very noticeable.

I dunno....the verdict is still out but I likemy money right where it is now.

Okay people we need to calm down. This car is fast. I was able to play around with mine this weekend against a 2000 Z28 LS1 with cat back (Borla), Mass Air Sensor, SLP cold air, a nice tune, tons of suspension goodies, and 390 gears. I had no problem keeping up; yes he did pull on me but not by much, I’d say he had half a car at 110 MPH.

From looking at those mods I would guess the 390 gears [ never heard of those] were the biggest equalizer. The 3:23's and 3:42's in the 4th Gen may run closer to the SS's than one might think. I would think that the SS's would have a big advantange when you get over 100mph.

i was speaking of all the 03 cobra's running mid 13's when they first came out that he stated. They might have, but I never heard of it.

he said he powershifted. I don't see how you can really tell how he shifted. And he has good track record.

General Motors......if this new Camaro runs slower than my stock 4th Gen, I'm going to be one unhappy camper. I'm not putting down 40k for less performance.....

OH, That's why it's so slow. He probably took out half the engine parts and put them in another customer's car. Did the Camaro still have it's hood, or was he trying to sell someone a body kit?
