So does adding the spacer increase the gap with the Vararam?

It should not increase it, but should stay the same or close to the same.

Just finished my install. I think if you seal the isolator to the IM, you will find it much easier to then put it back on the gaskets and then bolt on. I'm going to fire it up and go for a drive. Installing my tune after. Pics tonight on my build thread.

Edit: i had to cut some plastic retainer piece on the right side of the IM, that was holding a bundle of wires, to get the IM off.

Yep, thanks for the feedback It made it perfectly clear to me to go out and buy a 13mm ratchiting swivle. Now all I need is some permatex Right stuff and the Isolarot and TB to show up in the mail and I will be off to the garage.

Honestly? I haven't really driven the car enough to tell a difference. I don't daily drive it and just took it out of storage to do this. Had trouble installing the tune today, so that hasn't been done. Hopefully will try in a bit. Car goes back into storage tomorrow for another month. I won't really know until I take it to the track. I've never done a dyno and don't really see myself doing one in the future.

edit: I can say, it's amazing how cool the IM is once you get to operating temps and check it.

Storage sucks. I can't handle the cold much any longer. We've seen mid 80's already down here, so I see this really benefiting those in the warmer areas and of course when y'all up north warm up.

Took it for another drive tonight after installing the Trifecta tune. Now, I wasn't expecting the tune to kick in right away, but I definitely felt gains, whether it's from the ice-olator or a combination, I don't know. But I'm a little giddy right now. On a side note, I love the ghost cam.

Might be a combination... normally, without pulling the battery, the PCM wouldn't adjust for the Black Ice-olator for about 100 miles. Uploading the Trifecta tune would have ended up reseting that though, so you probably felt some of both.... I still think you may be leaving some gains on the table in the upper RPM's because of the stock airbox with the blackwing though- time to get it on the dyno!
