Don’t say it’s because I haven’t driven an SS.

I have.

It was amazing.

Dont tell my wife.
I do understand it, I traded a 5 mo old cr-z for mine. I never should've done out if the money wasn't right though. Dealer made an incredible offer on my trade stop it made it easy. If the deal isn't good enough, just be ready to walk away...

...and I'm going to tell your wife...

Expect to sleep better at night because you finally got what you've been secretly wanting for a while now...and the lower gas mileage, mail slot, increased horsepower and added $6-$7k in price is well worth it in my book....then again I knew right from the beginning I needed an SS....now you do too so I'm sure it'll be worth it to you too....not saying there is anything wrong with the LT's...they're all beautiful cars in my eyes....GO GET IT!!!

Well... if he would have just bought the SS in the first place, he could have only spend $6500 for 100hp, 150 ft-lbs of torque, a better suspension, a better transmission, a better rear end, better brakes...

The other $7500 is the LOSS he may have to take by buying a car that just didnt "do it" for him and hes not happy with the car.

So before you throw around the Einstein photo thinking you're so smart...

The $4500 increased cost for the SS is ABSOLUTLY money well spent. THe gas and insurance are negligable (sp?... whatever) as you have to pay those anyhow.

If I might just say........... That 100hp is very easily expandable to much more. The 6 really is limited.

BTW, the difference in a 1LT and a base SS is around $6700.00 so not sure where you're getting that $15k from unless you're talking about the percieved loss he takes.

Still guarantee it comes in WELL under 15k.

But, If I'm a bank, I'm not giving any auto loans for 7 to 10k above the cost of the car.

Actually not always. I upgraded to a brand new '11 1SS/RS from a '11 LT. Payments went up $36mth (that includes warranties), ins about $10mth now (its under seasonal driving), dropped my int rate, same term loan and rolled only $1k into my new loan. So I walked away feeling great w an amazing new car!

Good luck OP! Get a good trade on ur current car and haggle the price of the SS. If your ok w a '11 they have good incentives on new ones and you can still find them.

Yes, something to consider - int rate on a new loan can often removed some of the sting of this kind of deal IF the new loan is significantly lower than existing. This isn't often factored.

I got my 45th SS LS3 from Capitol Chevrolet in San Jose. Talk to Ben there. I got mine for about $360 under invoice, not MSRP. I actually drove the 300 miles from Nevada after shopping all the dealers here to San Jose because of the deal.
You won't be disappointed with the car or the deal. I traded my 2012 Challenger R/T Hemi 6 speed in on my Camaro and never looked back.

I still can't wrap my head around why this happens so often. If you know you're going to have buyers remorse and will buy a V8, why not just wait and buy the V8? There is no way anyone is making out even on a swap, and it would have been cheaper to just buy the one car....

...just don't get it.

Hater.

But seriously, why not try to find a used one with low miles? Screw buying new

Check for incentives, owner loyalty and GM preferred pricing come to mind. If you ask I am sure someone, maybe even me, can get you the GM preferred pricing.

EDIT: Just checked, GM is also offering 1500 cash back. So this puts you at about 29k for a NEW 1SS LS3 with the RS package using GM incentives.

This is the number you should start with, in other words don't pay more than 29K for a NEW 2011 1SS/RS.

Good Luck.

Deals are out there to be had man. You gotta find someone willing to give you a good deal on your trade and a low price on the new car. I paid 21200 for my 2011 put like 16k miles on it i think. Had it from JAN 2011 to DEC 2011. Traded on DEC 28. Got 21000 for the trade in, paid 28,500 for the 2010 2SSRS. I only owed 7k on the LS and i put another 3000 down on the 2SS so my payments went from 350 to 240.

Im just saying, if you look hard enough you can find something thats good for you man. Keep an eye peeled. i drove from Alabama to Ohio to get mine :P.

Way cheaper to buy a SS in the first place. You lost minimum 10% value on the LT just driving it off the lot.
