I can speak for myself. My dealer when he took me into the conference room and showed me the big glass board with the sold orders on it. He told me that if I wanted to get one of the many ordered Camaro's and get one before they hit the streets.....I needed to pre-order. He then pulled out a pack of printed documents out that was labeled something about pre-order ordering guide. Hmmmmm. I guess what he said and the whole term pre- vs. post order thing must have confused me. Pre means before Post means after. And this was all hinging on a key date. The start of production. Originally in Feb but moved to march. Seems clear as mud to me. Night guys have a great rest of the evening.

No, the guy who ordered March already has his car but the guy in Nov is still waiting. Surely you think something is wrong with that.

If you knew that, then you wouldn't be complaining right now. I'm trying to figure out why people thought it was pre-order means you're buying the car when GM clearly said it wasn't that way back before they took pre-order number 1.
They were not asking me to vote. They were asking me to buy and give a deposit and in return for that I would get special pricing, welcome kit, and my spot in the order process. I even have that on my letter from Ed Peper. If they just wanted a cencus why did they make such a big thing about the first day to ORDER the new Camaro.

So the dealer is the one that mucked this up for you, not GM. That is a huge problem right there. Not GM's fault, but your dealer is an idiot. Is this the case with everyone else?

Bobby, What did you order? could it be that they haven't made the batch with your specific combination yet? maybe your color + trim level is up for next week when they switch to a new color? If that's the case, than I definitely can see someone ordering in March receiving a car before you. GM has only said that you'll get your car before end of third quarter this year. If that doesn't happen, then you can complain. Please read and answer my questions since you have all this time to argue.

So if you ordered because you were "forced to" I think you may need to take a trip down memory lane.
It is implied by the fact that it's a preorder. Who in their right mind would put down a deposit to take part in a census? If you sincerely thought that then I've got some great land a couple hundred miles south of me that I'd like to sell you. Beautiful area with tons of wild life to boot.

Fbodfather specifically made us believe, even though I thought otherwise, that preorders would be made first. Now I know he's going to come back and say that he did no such thing but I'd like you all to go back and read some old threads.

Now of course he never said that customer orders would be built before sold orders. But he certainly made people believe that. I even argued with him about it. And sure enough, I was right. But then again, how could I have been arguing with him if he wasn't disagreeing with me? Read the threads and I think you'll understand. Especially notice Skyman's reaction. He took Scott's word as gospel and interpreted it to mean that customer cars would get built first. We all know now that didn't happen. As I said then, GM never had any intention of this. But, I decided to trust Scott in spite of the other evidence.

I don't feel like going back and digging up other examples (it's 2am and I have to work in the morning) but there's plenty more of this sort of statement from the GM folks.

Allocation?
Dealer Size?
Competitor Factors?
Dealer Sales Volume?

Come on, we all know the drill, it has been posted plenty of times. We ALL want to be the first one on the block to drive it. But with all this complaining, and bitching, and G-Damning GM, you seriously dont think your ruining your experince of anticipation for this car?

I am not saying people dont have the right to be frustrated, GM is not building 15K cars, they hope to sell 100K... thats a BIG Picture. Some of these people buying dealer cars are buying a premade order, that they are accepting, and many are paying a 3k-5k premium to do so.

So you jumped to conclusions and didn't read anything. Got it.

There is NO delay.

When a new vehicle goes into production, you cannot run them at, say, 40 jobs per hour.....well -- you COULD -- but no one would want to buy them.

QUALITY is our guiding light. It must be or we won't be around for another 100 years.

In order to get quality, the plant -- it's people and its vendors and suppliers -- and, it could be argued -- the machinery itself -- need to go slowly as the vehicles start to be built -- this allows final adjustments and root-cause analysis for anything that may not be 'just right' --

Some of you may have read that "Number 3" and I -- along with John, Cheryl, and many others, are now driving 'Captured Test Fleet' vehicles. Each of us has driven the IVERs -- and early non-saleables -- and I gotta tell you -- I'm BLOWN AWAY by the quality of VIN 9A000130 -- how great it rides over the craters known as Detroit Streets -- how quiet the ride is (road noise) at 70mph -- how silky the shifter is - and I delight in seeing the final solutions to the number of items that we targeted for improvement --

Sooooooo....

....Each day - each week -- the line will 'ramp up' -- and by March 16th, we will have built many many more Camaros.

Dylan is trying to share info. with you -- but please -- I'm begging you -- don't jump to conclusions when you read something.

We are not completely clueless! We KNOW you want your Camaros -- WE WANT you to have your Camaros!

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14067

WHOA -- jumping to conclusions!

We are building both V6 and V8 cars -- we want you (collectively) behind the wheels of your Camaros AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!...........

Actually I did pre-order. I'm just being patient because I was informed and knew what I was getting into.

well the only thing i can think of is asking for something in return for making us wait. i thought when you take orders you make them as they come and not jump around. according to my guy at my dealer they take orders in order. but then i asked why did the people in oct of 08 get passed by the guy in feb of 09. it makes no sense. many people are with me on this. i want to write them and fight for some free upgrades for makeing us wait so long.

Yup. Of course he didn't. Because that would have been incorrect. But please look at the implication of what he said. And look at the reaction that people took to his posts, including mine. I tried to get a clear answer and failed. All I got was obfuscation of the issue. He stated that my posts were incorrect and misleading, even though I have since been proven correct. And there were many more that you did not copy/paste.

And once again, there's more that I don't feel like finding but if you insist, I'll try and dig it up tomorrow.

Besides, this is all old news. What we want is this stuff not to happen anymore. No more political answers. Just give us the facts and all our lives would be much, much easier.
