SHOULD GM HOLD OFF TIL ALL 14K-15K INITIAL ORDERS ARE FILLED, AND THEN SHIP THEM OUT???

NEWS FLASH, THEY ARE NOT AT 15K YET, SO... UMMM, YOU WOULD STILL BE WAITING...JUST SAYING

Those that pre-orderd were mis-lead. Deposits should have been fully refundable if problems/delays arise, with the priority option of buying dealer allocated cars @ MSRP.
Early customers should have had these options(#s taken into account as part of production/marketing strategy by GM). I know it's too late now, but GM should at least show some appreciation(how about a commemorative "birth certificate") or some kind of discount/upgrade, although it may do lilttle to ease the pain of waiting...

For the record.... not just floor cars, some have ordered through open allocations and gotten the car their way..

Well I was talking to the internet sales manager with Putnam today, and even met his boss. Both are extremely nice people and seemed to have a decent knowledge of the car, although they did admit to checking these forums for info from time to time, and they have assured me that we can set up some sort of a group/member discount. I think GM should have never used the word "Pre-order" in the normal world that means "me first"

Why are the already built ones being held? Built March 26, @4B00 March 30, checked yesterday, still 4B00, there's over 2000 of us there, why are they being held? These are already built! I agree, they should be built in approx order of the day they were ordered. I also agree that dealer cars and rental need to be built along side the preorders, but to have so many built ones sitting in OZ, and not one word of explanation to us or the dealer, that's what POs me.

Ours are being held for quality control. Most or all cars made from the start of production to the end of March were being held and retrofitted. I'm in the same boat as you. vin #1139 built 3/26 and 4B00 since 4/2. Hopefully they'll start moving soon. Looks like several of the lower vins are starting to get delivered

When I go to Disney Land and reserve my spot on a ride via a reserved ticket I sign up for earlier in the day I should expect to move to the front of the line at that reserved time. Not have to wait behind people just forming in the line that has been going all day long.

but how many other people also have a reserved ticket for that exact same time? you move to a different line, but you still have to wait in line.

sort of. if you go to best buy and pre order a game, all that does is reserve you a copy when they come in. I just pre-ordered the Sims 3 (and got a few bonus things by preordering), but the day it comes in, im going to be out of town. does that mean that no one else should be able to come into the store the day it comes out and buy one direct? no. they arent going to ship me my game before they ship it to stores, all the preorder is (in this case) is a reservation for your individual, unique camaro.

You represent the customers that are guaranteed. That has traditionally never been enough to keep GM in business. Would you prefer getting your cars now and seeing GM fail or seeing GM sell cars so that someday you can get another new GM car that awes you as much as this one? As a business strategy, it simply makes sense to sell as many cars to enthusiasts as possible, but it also is necessary to promote to non-enthusiasts, and that is only possible if enthusiasts aren't the only ones receiving cars. How can you tell the difference? Enthusiasts order first.

For me GM set the precedent on preorders of their cars with the Solstice. I preordered the Solstice and guess what? They did in fact work to fill the preorders first.
