It's kinda hard to take 1st deliveries of 2012's in April or May. The year is a 1/4 to a 1/3 over already.

Not saying your going to trade your car in next year BUT knowing your car will loose 10k plus in the first year isn't something to brag about either... Its going to kinda suck if they get released then to be honest... But I'm trying to say optimistic as I can I this one

if you wait till april or may...you will have 7 months give or take to call your ZL1 "new."
If you wait till may of this year and order a MY 13...and it gets delivered by lets say july....then you have about 18 months...give or take.... to call your car "new." Follow me on this?
Another reason why I think one should wait....

this...what drake below is saying... its true and the car will depreciate... some.....

The 2010's lost so much value... Ask anyone on here they will tell you... My 2011 SS lost 7k in the first year and I bought mine in the year 2011! :/

I believe no one will argue this point... It's valid... The reason why we want a 2012 is because we want it now... No one cares if it's a 2012 or 2013 they just want it ASAP... But yes once the 13's roll out your 12 will be a year old:/ why Chevy did it this way is beyond me... They should have either made them sooner or pushed them back for the first release being a 2013 in my opinion

Fuse pull on the tire issue or on the software issue?
If there is some type of Eprom or ECM issue and it needs a flash I doubt the fuse pull would fix it.
Maybe we could disconnect the battery ground cable for a minute.

Ok.. at least we can laugh at this now anyway.

"we want a 2012 is because we want it now"
that is the society we live in.. but its not always a good thing..
You want one, I want one.... everyone that I have read about on c5 in this section wants one NOW. Who wouldn't?
But would one not feel a little more comfortable about it if the internet was not flooding out now about this latest topic about why the Texas car was sent back on so on?
Did they (chevrolet) wanna replace all four tires because the car had been left in 43 sub degree temps?
Ok, i said that once.. but I would think it would be at least be something to "look at" and not ignore. No the car is not a 85 IROC with gator backs on it that will untread if you put the directional tire on backwards......
but the point is.... There is a Good Year memo stating the tires should not be exposed to extreme cold.....OK.... so chevy was not worried about it right? So why should we? Could Good year log onto c5.. see all the cars sitting in sub degree photos and say hey..."GM...those 476 cars you built...." "you are on your own as far as warranty on your tires... Because we sent out a memo and by the submission of photos on c5 with all the cars parked in sub degrees you did not take us seriously?"
Again...not hating on GM... just listen...
The upteen issues with convertibles.......would you buy a 2013 ZL1 vert knowing what you know about the convertible top issues? OR would you rather wait until all the customers that are complaining on the vert stop complaining...(or at least die down) and Then order a vert zl1?

Ok, software glitch...whatever the problem is... would you not be comfortable knowing full well that without any shadow of any doubt that when you get your zl1 that it did not have something holding it up once the car is being held up on QC? We knew these cars were going to be held..
Its not the QC hold that concerns me here....its the "will never know the truth" that bothers me....
I know GM has to protect they're interests... I do...
all I am trying to say is take a step back....breath.....
and think about all of it.... not just the fact the zl1 is an awesome car...
we already knew that and we also know that it now kicked the tail out of the Boss LS 302! W@@T!

very good post! My SS has some minor issues but I forgot about them after they got fixed and they even held my car for a night... didnt bother me a bit... im just glad they fixed it and in a timely manner.. I know that no car is perfect but I hope the ZL1 is treated as such with better care etc. Im not worried bout the tires but i am worried that if something were to happen GM better warranty it as expected and I know they will... GM has been good to me and my SS now is a good car and why I am considering a ZL1... I just want the car so bad I forget that this process must be done to ensure that its the best it can be and I understand that... but keep in mind the wait is killing everyone but we are in it together and no customer has it yet so thats another good feeling (:

You're right about one thing. (ok, maybe not just one, but figure of speech lol)

We want it now.

I, too, sometimes want it now. I can be as patient as anyone with large things. Hell, I waited for this car and I could have replaced my wheels at any time but had to wait till it was safe and responsible for me to do so.

But I could order a noweeds cutout system and want it. But I don't want to wait 3 weeks for it in this case. Got a car show next weekend I want it for.

I can remember the delay in start of production from Feb 15th to March 15th 2009. It was like the freaking world was coming to an end.

Then the area 51 deal.

Easy for me to be patient, I have my car.

Nah man, Ford isn't having a problem making 650HP at all. That Shelby engine (5.8L) is a stroked and revised version of the 5.4L FORD GT engine that made 550 (underrated) HP back in 2004. You got a 7 to 8 years span to work it out. Even "the DOHC 4-valve heads are a revision of the 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R cylinder heads (with slightly increased wall casting thickness in the exhaust port)."

The main reason about why Ford will win this HP War against the Camaro, its because of the tehcnology used in their new engines and their bullet proofed forged bottom end. Do a pulley swap, some exhaust modifications and a tune and you'll be looking at an underrated, healthy and reliable 750HP machine.

That's the reason I want a 2013...also some of the 2012 bugs will probably have been worked out.
