TRC-SS: All I can do is tell you what happened to me last Saturday. He never mentioned my speed and then gave me a warning for "Speed greater than reasonable". I was in traffic with other cars in front of me and behind me on Main St.
For your info I have friends on the Nassau County N.Y. PD, Brooklyn N.Y. 90th and here in a Ct town. I carry a current PBA card from one, so your rambeling is just that.
"Hundreds of police officers here with Camaros"- I don't think so.
Like I said- It's all about our Camaros which he kept complementing me on- Sorry if I offended
you officer Tim but my original thread has nothing but the facts as to what happened to me.

Had a few experiences like this in smaller towns (Holland, Wales, Brimfield). Seems like these guys really have nothing better to do. Once I got stopped in Wales, officer walked all the way around my car very slowly looking over the top of his sun glasses. Went back to his car and came back and told me to "slow down this is a small town and we don't like people racing through here". No ticket or warning.

I haven't had any problems. The police have given me several compliments about my car.

All you had to do was tell him you preferred a ticket in lieu of a lecture.

I think if you are calm & cool with them, they will be calm and cool with you. If you are just accelerating a little fast or 5 mph over the speed limit there should not be any problems. If you are going sideways or 15-20 mph over the speed limit you are going to have some trouble just like in any car. The best thing to do is to behave because anyone misbehaving just represents the rest of us. I think if you were fooling around and you were straight with the officer he might give you a break if you are honest with him/her.

That my friend is cop bashing.

These threads dont belong on forums such as these, they give no knowledge to the people who view the site and they go nowhere but open a can of worms to those who dislike police. There are hundreds of cops on this forum who own camaros and even cops who are moderators.

As far as the Camaro being "cop magnets" thats untrue. Go on any car forum, pruis, honda, corvette, camaro, dodge trucks ect they all have threads about thier cars being cop magnets....the magnet part is in how you drive it, you already admitted you have loud exhaust and no front plate, both violations.

As you can probably figure out i am a police officer in Massachusetts and have been for 9 years. I got my Camaro as a hobby and a nice way to relieve the stress from my job. I joined this forum to meet people who share the same passion as i do in their cars. The last thing i want to view on this forum is crap like this thread.

I am with you on this. I have owned camaros all my life and I respect them and the law. Some people with camaros or other sport cars like to show off the power and that should be done at a track. Just because we have nice looking cars we should not be treated any different and the law is the law.
Yesterday I was driving my 2010 and another camaro came beside me and wanted to race and I just waved and let him go. I love my cars and I don't think a policeman is going to stop you just for the heck of it and not because you did something wrong. People can criticize me but that is how I feel. I don't have a front plate on my car but it's the law so if I get a ticket for that, that's my own fault the cops are not the jerks for doing their job.
No I am not a cop. Just a camaro Lover.

Cops are doing their job .. keeping the roads safe ,, if any one feels like one is steping out of line just report them .. but i never had any issues with any of them.. cool story .. i was going west on 90 .. doing about 70mph on the fast lane ,. between northboro and worcester i state trooper gets behind me .. i was like sh@#$% im getting pull over .. and it was my fault .. so i move to the middle lane and he went right next to me and made a gesture to roll my window down , i did, and over his speaker he went " nice Chevy " and thumb up !!! and took off.. that made my day !!

Thanks for the heads up, I'll be careful next time I'm in MA.
The cops down the Beach in CT hang out with us by the water and talk cars.
One is a gear head who's son has a restored Camaro.
I feel totally comfortable there.

I agree. The Ct police, both local and State are great and support our hobby IMO.
I've never been stopped in Ct. nor do I have any points on my license in over 15 years.
Like I said on my follow up post, I've always respected law enforcement with some
past & present friends and relatives on the job.

I think it is important to remember that cops are human beings as well. All types of people are cops, some stable...others not so much. There are good cops and bad ones just like in any other profession. I think some people are quick to jump on the cop hating bandwagon, and at times there are individual cops that deserve it, but it is not right to stereotype them.

Just thought I would add my two cents, not being accusatory.
