Reminded me of the reason I bought my Camaro. My son joined me in a bike-a-thon to support pediatric cancer research (he's a survivor). I told him if he raises $1000 (the minimum is $500) and rides the whole 50 miles, I'll trade my car (then new 2011) in on a Camaro.

He raised $2500 and crushed the ride in a torrential side-ways-raining downpour, I was in awe.

Two weekends later, I was on a search for a 2012 (love the dash and - yes - I actually like the steering wheel) in black, had to be on the lot so I could surprise him. I think he thought I was joking when I said I would do this. Only black I could find was the 2LT/RS and got a great deal on it with minimal reaming on trade-in. It was also the only 2012 in Black I could find at that time! It was on the lot with 2 miles on it. They had a red 2SS, which was certainly cool, but I wanted Black. I heard the 2012 V6 had plenty of power (does) and I prefer DOHC engines anyway so that was great.

Driving down the street, they had a Bee out front and he noticed and it clicked with him "Hey, you said if I...."

So not as much of a surprise but the expression on his face while we were driving home in it was pretty damn cool (and worth the boning on the trade in)! At a light I saw the grin was still there and he turned at looked at me and said, "Dad, you're smiling, you love your new don't you." DUHHHHHHH! We both laughed and he said, "This is the best day of my life."

Worth every penny.

So I went to my girl friends house to day and her neighbor was having a party outside. And when I drove up to her house she walked out to greet me and over heard one of the guys at the party say" that's a nice car but I would only buy it if I can get it in a four door" I was like WTF. Lol

Also almost every time I take my buick skylark out to like reno or someplace, I Always get kids going Look its bumblebee lol.

I tried looking at your garage. Can't see the pics. You can probably see them, but we can't. I had the same problem and to solve it I needed to resize the images to less than 1200 wide.

First one: Black is a stupid color. How can a color be stupid? I don't like yellow. That doesn't make it a stupid color. Beneath the paint is all the same sheet metal.

Second one: All V8s are faster than your V6, no matter what year. This one was somebody telling me that another kid at my school could beat me because it had a V8... a V8 made in 1981. However, the car he was talking about was a restored 1981 Z28 so I have some respect for the other kid that owns the car. I think nothing of the kid that knows nothing about cars. I may be wrong, so please correct me if so, but I'm pretty sure the 1981 Z28 had 165 BHP @ 4000 RPM.

I always get the whole "your car is red" thing. Its Orange! >.< Or they think it's my husbands. Only once have I had it called a Mustang and it was by a little kid so I let it slide.
I had one guy at a dealership coming run out to tell me how much he loved my car and the color of it. And another lady at a gas station was so excited over it she begged to see the interior. And of course the guys at school love the whole "yes its a V8 and yes its a manual" thing.
