I know before my mods I got a Vector Motorsport Tune that they send E-mail with the Engine and TCM tranny tune.. after I loaded that in, even when warm out if I got on it a little it would even chip pretty good when I hit 2nd Gear. Now I have to feather into it or I just spin for a mile.

Agreed, I use to have a big block vette. All it had was headers and a cam and it was night and day to my SS, when I mean night and day I mean that my SS would get quite easily beat by the vette.

Strange to hear all this. I can't get my pirellis to stick at all, and live in Tx too. I'm not happy with them at all. Second gear if I stomp on it, it breaks loose easily. Sorry to hear about that

that is weird that the 2011's can power brake and the 12's won't. When I apply the break and the gas the engine rpm stays very low like the computer limits it. I will try again today while engine is not super hot; then I will stomp it. Also will tune this crap out I didn't pay 40k to here a chirp. Is Jannety the best? or does anyone know a good local shop around DFW?

Just got back in drive with traction control on (no light on dash) the car breaks loose and starts to slide sideways every time. In Manual mode just a chirp. In Manual mode using tap shift starting out in first gear just a chirp. Isn't that just back asswards from the way it is supposed to work?

Interesting.. I had a 2011 ss - stock A6 and had no issues power brake burnouts. I could sit and smoke them.
I now have a 2012 ss - A6 CAI and vmax ported throttle body. She only has about 2300 miles on her and I haven't tried a burnout yet. Looks like it's time to try. Be back later Time to go for a "drive"

Power braking is different than just mashing the go pedal from a dead stop. If you know what you're doing, you can get the tires to spin easier by power braking (building torque while applying the brake at the same time). Things you need to take into account. 1. Road surface temperature 2. Tire temperature 3. Road surface - clean, dust/sand/dirt free, smooth, etc. I just know that on a hot day, the stock Pirellis have excellent grip, and it's very common for a stock L99 A6 to not be able to spin its tires in summer like conditions. But as mentioned, a good tune usually solves this problem (if its a problem). |

curiosity satisfied
No issues with burnouts in my 2012. All nannies off. Manual mode, 1st gear. Power brake burnouts.
The balance between braking and throttle is important. I think I may even have been able to shift to 2nd and kept it going. These Pirellis' are expensive so i don't think I'll be to doing much more of this. 81 degrees - clean asphalt

I was told by my tuner that if I run a SCT tune that it doesnt change the binary code on the computer like HP and others do and it wont be detected as long as I reflash back before taking it in.

That simply isn't true. It will void the powertrain warranty and will be detected by GM.
