Wrong, or not, people are going to use it and probably will if it's a GT-R or a Sentra. So, throw your Mark Twain quotes in their direction, not mine. |

Dude if I had the chance I would definitely jump on the GTR. That is my absolute dream car. Don't get me wrong, I love my Camaro and Chevy all together. I just love me some GTR though.

Go for the GT-R. You arnt going to get much honest feedback here so you may want to try another forum to get more honest opnions then the typical Camaro FTW reply.

I can take the turn into my neighborhood at 47 mph and record 1.48 lateral G's without a whimper. Sounds like the OP should spend a little time on the suspension and wheel/tire combo

Check out the maintenance costs on the GT-R. Mind boggling.

Is the GTR a great car...yes. Does it have the iconic status of a corvette, not even close. |

If one buys a BMW that's built here in the U.S., is it now an "American" car? A Camry that's made in KY is now an American car? No, not in my opinion. A Toyota Camry is a Japanese car regardless that it's made in Georgetown, KY. Toyota is a Japanese company. A BMW X5 is a German car. It's made in South Carolina but it's a German car. GM is an American company. Ford is an American Company. BMW is a German company. Toyota is a Japanese company. I understand the lines have been blurred a bit over the years. But because the Camaro is assembled in Oshawa, doesn't mean, it's not an American car. That said, the GT-R is a very nice car and a fast car. It's also far more expensive than even a ZL1. It's up to this guy whether or not he wants to buy a GT-R or keep his Camaro but they're types different cars. Last edited by Mud; 03-25-2012 at 05:50 PM. |

The guy said "buy American." Not "American made." Is the Camaro a "Canadian" car because it's made in Oshawa? In my opinion, things have changed enough over the years that "Detroit iron" has changed its meaning but not enough that the Camaro is no longer an American car. I believe it is an American car. But to the OP i love the camaro but i dont think it be much of a choice for me there are a few foreign cars that i love and thats one of them. While you may be full custom camaro there are still alot of them on the road. You goto a GTR you will stand out. If the funds were there i would be all out for the GTR

Indeed, it is North American. Mexico is part of North America as well. I believe when people say "American" or "America" they are referring to the U.S.

If it weren't so damn fugly, the GT-R might be nice car to have. Reminds me of a lot of Mustang cues though. I don't care if it flies to the moon. If it's ugly, I'm not owning it nor can I enjoy looking at it. I'll never personally own a GT-R because they're ugly. But if you wanna buy it, go ahead, I could care less what you spend your money on.

If you invested same $ amount that's in the GTR you're SS would handle a lot better. Not sure which corners you're taking but mine sticks to the road quite nicely. As for your fuel consumption, you might want to see a tuner that knows what their doing.
However, buy what you want, I don't believe people should buy something because it's made in their country of origin if you like the GTR by all means buy it, and get rid of the SS. If I had known in advance I'd have to dump as much as I have into my SS to have it perform the way I wanted, perhaps I would have got a GTR too. ![]() With that said though, I love the way my SS truck feels zooming around with that LSX in there. Can't wait for the 9" rear and 275' / 315'. GTR what GTR, oh the one in the rear view mirror. ![]() I smoked one last summer, it was pretty easy. |
