No trolling, I haven't seen any magazine times showing the Camaro in the 12's either.

BUT members claim to have a few 12 sec stock runs.

I DO believe both cars are capable of a 12 sec stock run.

its no magic, 5.0 is slightly faster stock for stock, adding parts from there and anyone could be the winner. just hope the guy in the 5.0 is not a good driver..

also to the OP you have a few parts and those mustangs at the track could have some serious FINE tuning on a number of small things helping get great times. don't take it badly, other camaros set up will beat you too. doesn't mean go buy a vette

also if you do a few mods then your camaro will beat 9/10 5.0's on the street since most aren't tuned and track racers, and maybe 2/10 of those will even be a person who wants to race though

What are you talking about, the manual was tested at 12.9 a bunch of times. Regardless thats not what this is about, I dont care what the mags say... I am talking about what I see at the track and the street. I have seen plenty stangs run with bolt-on mods like exhaust ,tunes and drag radails and none touched 11s! Not to mention every time I did see a 5.0 I made it a point to go over and talk with them. I am not a hater of mustang's but lets get real... no low 13 high 12 car avg. is going to run 11s with a 118 trap with just a tune and drag radails like alot of people claim. I know there are fast ones out there, but there are alot of lie's out there too.

You're right. GT500s trap 118-119 with 100hp more. I don't think intake exhaust tune only 5.0s would gain 8mph that easily. They may though, who knows, stock Boss 302s have trapped 117-118. I don't know what to think anymore lol

Ok I have seen some great posts and I always knew I would never be te fastest at the track. It just bugged me to see stock for stock seeing the 5.0s that much quicker than me and I have spent money to make my car faster. Been to the track 3 weeks in a row and I have beat some good cars but those 5.0s were no match that day. I am back to being happy with my car and I will accept it as its worth. It still looks great and sounds great with my mods and I will just have to be happy being a high 12 second car.

The problem is your car should be faster with those mods though. You really should have a mid 12 sec car there pretty easy. Have you tried getting up on the converter at all or do you just punch it off idle? Check you MAF too, mabey you have weak one holding you back! I would look into it man, your car should have at lest 12.6 12.5s in it.

When motor trend raced the 2010 GT500 against the 2010 SS on an airstrip (not even prepped track) with video the SS ran a 12.9 to the GT500 12.8. I am sure most of us have seen this vid.

Hot Rod magazine also ran a 12.9 with the manual SS.

Most mags were/are getting 13.0-13.1 with 110-111 trap speed out of the ls3. If a car that traps 110-111 cant get 12's it is nothing more than a traction problem.

It takes a 13.1 to even make the last spot on the fast list on this website. Their are more than a few 12 second runs on that list. 17 of them to be exact. And how many more that havent even posted?...it is not rare at all.

Bla Bla Bla... Race star wheels and slicks goes a long way! Most bolt-on 5th gens are using 20" drag radails on stock rims. The few cars that do have 18"s in a drag setup are well in the 11s too. Not to mention just recent a guy went 11.6s with bolts-ons on his 20s. Put 15" race stars and slicks with a full bolt-on SS and they would be right there too. If you notice most times with stock rims on 5.0s on drag radials are not nearly as good as the cars on full drag setups.
