What IS "dealer prep" charge anyway? Seems way too much for just washing the car. And they gotta take the plastic paint protectors off anyway if they hope to sell it.

The body is assembled when shipped right?

the LFX is new but from my understanding its not a whole lot different then the LLT. so i mean its not like its completley new and not something thats been building over the years ya know. i think the problem is it was a Lincoln DOHC engine not that its just a DOHC engine lol j/k

My 5.7L HEMI cam and lifter after 28k miles. Deemed manufacturing defect, soft cam, repaired under warranty.

You could still buy a 2LS from my dealer, have it shipped to you and buy brand new wheels you wanted and come out cheaper and get a 2LS instead of a 1LS.

Show your dealer that price and ad i linked you to. They have several at that price. Tell him your prepared to buy from them. Maybe they will come down more on the price and be reasonable.

Someone else I know mentioned the same type of problems with Chevys L99 V8 and due to airation of the oil.

Unhardened cam lobe/s have been a problem, even with hi perf aftermarket cams too. Sometimes it's just a "fluke/odd thing" that happens on lots of cars over the years. Cam maker goof.

Please explain. Is the LS3 a 2012 engine option or what? Remember I haven't been paying much attention to Chevys for quite some time now. So it's all new to me.

LS3 = Manual SS
L99 = Auto SS

Only 2 options available in an SS

Want auto trans.(will be my first auto trans car since I was 16, I'm 54, AAMOF) What exactly is the difference between the LS3 manul engine and a L99 auto transed engine? You know other than the missing heavy flywheel & C & PP. it's the camshaft I take it? Maybe different CR?
Or is there more to it than that?

L99 auto is a modified LS3 (same block). It runs a VVT cam with different cylinders, lifters and compression ratio. It also incorporates AFM (Active fuel management) This cuts power to 4 cylinders at slow, steady and cruising speeds. Basically it was to avoid having a gas guzzler tax on the Auto. The L99 has slightly less HP but, is quicker off the line as it has different gearing. 0-60 the auto is faster. 1/4 mile the LS3 catches up and is roughly the same or a tad faster with a good driver who can hook up.
