Forgestar new smaller lug holes?

Can anyone with insider knowledge confirm this? It seems that the majority of people are using 14mm X 1.5 lug nuts for their Forgestar wheels. But I recently read a new thread where someone had recently received their new Forgestar wheels and the 14mm lug nuts did not work.

From my understanding, I was told that Forgestar has recently stopped producing the wide pre-case holes and are opting for a much smaller hole. Possibly to give it a better look? So now the 14mm lug nuts will not fit anymore. I was told to use a 12mm “tuner” style lugs for the newer rims. Today, I PM’ed a vendor of ours but was still recommended the 14mm lugs. I’m not sure who has the correct information here, but can ANYONE in this industry verify which is the correct lugs to use?

The 14mm x 1.5 is the thread size of the stud, it has nothing to do with the outside diameter of the lug nuts. That being said, Forgestar does (and always has) required "tuner" lugs, which are smaller in outside diameter, but you will still want to find 14mm x 1.5 size tuner lugs. There are plenty on ebay.

Ok then I must have got that mixed up. But I’m wondering why another member here had the problem with the 14mm X 1.5 lugs that is recommended on here? I’m worried because I need to purchase a set soon but don’t want to end up with the wrong lug nuts. I was told to get 12mm X 1.5….does that sound right?

No, get 14mm x 1.5 "tuner" lugs. Obviously, whatever the other guy had or whatever you saw that was supposedly recommended was too wide. Go on ebay, and do a search for "14x1.5 tuner lug". You can even get them in black. Let me know if you want me to find some for you.

Here, these should work: http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-Spline-Bl...46264f&vxp=mtr

Or, you can contact "Nineball" (aka Tony), and he can sell you exactly what fits. He is "all-knowing" when it comes to Forgestar!!!

Yeah, I had both and the long ones end up looking really goofy.

No, they are only splined. All the "keys" have regular splines and are all the same.

There are actually about 5 companies that produce splined lugs. And, the keys are all slightly different. Some fit eachother, some do not.

It is the outer diameter of the lug that is the issue here, not the thread size (14mm x 1.5). The OEM lugs are fullsize truck lugs, they do not fit in the holes of most wheels on the market.
