I installed my JDP Halo kit on Sunday, started at about 1230 PM. With a few setbacks and the fact that I had to constantly run back inside, look at the video, and run back outside, I was done installing the kit at about 8 PM. I would have to say it isnt super difficult, but it is challenging to take the headlights apart and get everything lined up if you have never done it before.

So far I havent had an issue with my kit, but like someone previously stated, on the HARNESS that plugs into the CONTROL BOX (four plugs, two male, two female), it DOES matter how they are plugged up. when I finished installing the kit and turned my halos on, nothing. I almost panicked, until I realized if BOTH halo's werent working, something in the wiring is backwards. I knew my ground was good, because I used the edge of my drill bit to get the metal surface of the horn bracket exposed. So I unplugged all four plugs at the control box harness, and just switched them around guessing, and immediately the lights worked. This kit is outstanding and is definitely worth it once you finish everything and turn them on for the first time. I will take pictures later when the weather is better.

How would I test these before putting them completely in so I won't have to undo anything? Can I just touch them to the positive and negative parts of a drill battery? That's how I usually test other lights just not sure if these would work that way. Hoping mine come in this week.

I dont think you can do that. You have to actually place the new RGB LED into the halo ring in order to see if the kit works, which would require you to pretty much do the whole install. Your best bet is to do the entire install, and then ground it to the horn bracket, plug in the fuse taps, and turn them on. If they do no work, check the surface of your ground, and check the harness connections at the control box. Make sure you connect everything good the first time, because you dont want to have to track down parts of the harness to make sure everyhing is clipped in and snug.

I was one of the December orders (December 30th) and I had zero issues with my kit. People who have been having issues, have mostly had issues with the control box, but that hasnt been 100% confirmed yet.

You could power the box up and test the led before you actually put it in the headlight. The led just clips into the wiring harness.

Mine works great except the remote sometimes will quit working and I have to reprogram it. Reprogramming the remote is quick and easy so I'm not that worried about it.

Very simple

1. Connect both headlight LED's to the wiring harness, connect the interior LED to the wiring harness, connect the switch to the wiring harness, plug in both of the plugs into the fuse box, and connect the ground to a good ground on the car. When you first do this you will see the headlight LED blink once, now flip the switch to either the power or the battery and press the buttons on the remote you will see all of the colors light up test each color on the remote and as well as the modes and that’s it if they are not working then you can trouble shoot from this point. By testing it like this you can make sure the unit is working before the install that way when you go to pull everything off, and open the lights and stuff you know the unit is working.

2. IMHO I should have done this before even pulling the car apart this would have saved me $300 in wasted time for a shop and tech..

I am not sure if every single kit is tested before it ships (plug in everythig before boxed up) but this will save you a head ache.

I will say the kit looks amazing on the other guys car and I am sure mine will once we have a working wiring harness and control box.

Sean

I was informed that the kits are tested before they are released. I had some concerned on my kit, but i was told if there were any issues to call back Hopefully I can get these installed in the next few days.

Yours came in? I'd like to witness this install.
